Something Intensely Weird
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:05:11 AM »
Ok, so I really don't know how to put this particularly delicately, so I'm not going to try.

Before having a bowel movement, I will get this dizzy/lightheaded feeling, along with feeling hot and anxious. As soon as I use the bathroom, I am fine. This doesn't happen every single time, but it comes on very suddenly and is a very scary feeling. It usually leads to the disassociated feeling I get during a panic attack.

Has anyone else had this happen to them, and do they know why? I have found another website where several people claimed to have the same feeling, but no one had a good explination.

Could it have someting to do with a build up of toxins, or is it a purely mentally driven physical reaction.

Thanks for your time!  I'm very interested to hear what you have to say!!

Actually, I've experienced this, too!  Never really concerned about it - just figured I felt lousy because I need to have a BM! :happy0151:  I can get very nauseous, too - in fact, even after I go, I will remain nauseous for awhile.  I wouldn't worry about it.  I've been like this for years.

I also get the nauseaous feeling, but I've always associated that with eating. I've been getting sick from eating as long as I can remember.

But this dizziness feeling is starting to really scare me. I don't know why, but I just keep feeling like I'm just going to fall over. It's so unexpected.
I also get it randomly at times, when theres no connection to having to go to the bathroom. I'm just tired of feeling like I'm going to die.

Could it be vertigo?  Could be something go on with your inner ear.

I experience something like vertigo - but it happens very quickly.  I can be sitting down or standing up and be completely still, then all of a sudden there is this quick dizziness sensation or like I'm falling over very quickly (but I don't).  Nothing wrong with my head or my ears.  Who knows.  Probably hormonal.  It probably came on 8-10 years ago.  I can go for months without it, then boom.  I can track it but not attribute it to anything.

Wow. I really thought that this was a personal problem for me.  Thanks so much for posting!  I have the EXACT same thing.  Even with the sometimes unrelated lightheadedness and the feeling so weak/dizzy I need to sit down or freak out.  I've been tested for liver, kidney, and cardiac problems and everything comes back completely normal, so there's nothing physically wrong with me (or you).  I think it's psychological. I've been like this for years. My mom even says that I had similar reactions as an infant.  In short, it sucks, but there's nothing wrong with you except being anxious about it.

I think you may be looking at it the wrong way.

When I have episodes of sudden head rushes, light headedness, strange eye feelings and the feeling that I am going down, I often getting the feeling that I need a BM. Its part of the panic response.
