Flax seeds/Meal??

SO im reading that flax is awesome for your health..so i bought some..anybody use it?

I do! Every morning in my oatmeal. I also use it when I bake muffins or breaks. It's also good in yogurt. I also take fish oil pills 2x daily. Omega 3s are so important and I don't eat enough fish to supplement. -M

ohhh awesome!! i've been making beer bread ( i'm not a beer person or any kind of drinker for that matter, its just fast & easy) and I put some in it. So ...what kind do you use? the whole seeds or ground? I read that ground (meal) is better since whole doesn't get absorbed into the body enough. NExt I'
m thinkning o fbuying a coffee grinder to grind it myself...do you happen to know how long it's good for ?

I've done both. Right now I use dry roasted flaxseed that is ready to use. I used to buy it from whole foods and grind it myself but it became a hassel. It is suppose to last about 6 months. If you keep it in the freezer it will last longer. I go through it so fast that I just keep it out. I go through about 12 ozs in a month. I have high cholesterol (i'm a 33 year old, thin, in shape woman) and this has helped me control it. Let me know if you make any good recipes and I'll do the same!

ohhh i've got the ground meal and i've got it in the fridge..i guess i can put it i the freezer though...
so far I've just been adding it to stuff, like the bread and i put it over my cereal...
