Weird weird rash. What is going on?!
« on: January 04, 2012, 07:44:45 AM »
So I moved this week. Things have been great, except I keep getting these weird rashes periodically when I wake up. I feel a bit itchy in my sleep, I wake up in the morning, and I start scratching. All of a sudden I notice a bunch (I'm talking a LOT) of raised bumps all over my hands and sometimes on my fingers. They itch so much and it's so worrisome because I'm 200 miles away from home now and completely out of my insurance network so I can't get it checked out. I have gotten this rash on my face and on my hands at completely different times. Today is the worst it's been and I'm really upset because I itch SO MUCH! My wedding is in 10 days, if I wake up with this stupid rash on my face I'm going to freak out. And I can barely put my wedding ring on because my fingers get all puffy with this rash. What is going on?! HELP! :traurig001:

Now that I think about it, this has happened to me before, just not on my face and not on my hands. I kept getting what I thought was a weird heat rash on my shoulder. It happened about three times and went away after that. It's been a few months since that happened. Any ideas, anyone? The redness associated with it has gone away and it's left a rash like this: http://www.skinsight.com/adult/keratosisPilaris-treatments.htm I don't know if that IS what it is, but that's what it looks like.

There's just so many of them and it appeared very blotchy at first, almost like hives. Now it looks like the link. Just little bumps. I looked in the bed and there weren't any bugs. This has happened to me before. I am not sure if I am eating something weird but it's just so random and in very distinct areas without spreading. The dog has fleas, not sure if that's related. We just treated her because we just found out.

Could possibly be bugs (beg bugs, scabies, etc). Hope you don't freak out over this. Bugs arent THAT huge of a deal; you just have to find a way of getting rid of them. You may have to find a way to clean your bed and/or couch.

On the other hand, there's a possibility that its just nerves? You say youre wedding is coming up, and I know stress can cause problems like hives. Maybe you could try taking a benadryl and see if it works for you.
