Being a CNA makes me feel sad, but in a good way
« on: December 16, 2011, 04:43:28 PM »
Hello everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted here because I've been busy with work and certified nursing assistance school. I love the Christmas decorations!

I came here to talk about something that inspires me greatly, caring for other people. At first I thought it would be depressing working around confused and dying old people, it is but in a good way! I love caring for my residents. When I'm at work I have no anxiety whatsoever because I'm so wrapped up in making sure our people get the greatest care possible.

I know it's hard to believe in this day and age which leaves us feeling cynical and burnt out, but direct care is like therapy in itself. I've heard that people who are really low on Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, like an anxious person who is obsessed with feeling safe, will often be attracted to teaching and medical professions because it fills an emotional deficit.

I'm finding that to be too true, but as long as I don't lose my medical objectivity I see nothing wrong with doing what I love and loving what I do!

Happy Holidays everyone,
Princein
