is this just a tummy virus or something else to worry about?
« on: December 10, 2011, 05:14:09 PM »
I am trying just to stay rational:

On tuesday night I ate something spicy and my tummy felt upset. I had awful diarreah through the night and next morning. On wednesday I drank fluids only and then later at night I ate a baked potato and a small bit of cheese. I did not have any diarreah although my tummy still didn't feel 'right' and I had awful gas. Then thursday I ate a kfc at lunch time and then at night a spicy curry. After the curry, again I spent the night up and down to the loo. yesterday I had a cold meat roll and a low fat microwave meal (curry) and again it started and I had bloated tummy and in and out of the loo with diarreah.

Today I ate a roll with meat and did not have an upset tummy all day. Then tonight I ate a little bit of rice and curry and guess what? I have had gas and diarreah again!

I am trying not to freak. I looked up the nhs website and it says that a tummy bug can last 5-10 days and unless any blood then just treat at home. I've not had any blood.

My daughter also had diarreah between thursday and monday this week, although not like me where its constant until my tummy emptiies.

Also my period is 8 days late, not usual for me. Could these be connected?

Is it likely its just a winter bug or could there be something sinister?

I've not vomitted but feel a bit sicky at times. My wee one also last week was only sick once, it was just complaining of a sore tummy and the diarreah.

Thanks

It sounds like curry is not your friend!!

You may have developed an intolerance to it.  I don't think it's a bug, but the curry itself.

Too bad - curry is yummy!!
