I have never heard of school phobia being a diagnosis, but it is a common anxiety for many.  Starting school is always and anxious time because it requires a commitment and you know that there is a lot of work involved.  Try to take things a day at a time and enjoy yourself.  There is also a lot of really great thing about school that you should focus on such as making new friends, learning etc.  Take it a day at a time and you will find the anxiety will subside over time.

Good luck,
OE

Hah!  What exactly is school phobia?  I had a phobia going to school but because it was a direct cause of having panic disorder.  In school I felt trapped... unable to escape.  And all my energy was focused on fighting a sever panic attack instead of learning or socializing.  I used to sleep in class when I could because you are at a calm and time passes fast.  I had to go through 6-12th grade suffering and I somehow managed to pass my classes.  Looking back... I am not sure how   :angel-smiley-006:

Schools can trigger a lot of different types of anxiety or phobias.  Tests anxiety, social anxiety, phobias about talking in front of groups, agoraphobia, many different things.  You are likely experiencing one of these or a combination of them.

I hated gym. I hated the people who picked on me. I had panic attacks in the form of vomiting fits. The kids all laughed at me, and I was fat.

yeah I was a little bit school phobic.

Pippip, High School was much better anxiety wise, because I had begun treatment the summer before.  As for the popular kids being jerks to me...  Well, that was a whole different story.  Fortunately, I graduated in June of 2006, so those days are over!!!  College is soooo much better for me!  I have a wide circle of friends, and people are actually nice to me.  Not to mention, the school is smaller than my high school, which is a plus, because I hated the size of my high school!

I'm glad to hear high school is better for you Pippip!  Hopefully, your high school experience will be much more enjoyable than mine was.

I always had it to some degree.  I think a lot of it is another name for social anxiety really.  Although I assume people could have test anxiety and other anxieties.  For me personally it was mainly social anxiety I think.  And flat out being sick of boring school also.
