Vitamin, mineral, and supplement anxiety
« on: November 04, 2011, 05:30:19 PM »
I want to get back on nutritional supplements to try to help with my anxiety, pms issues, depression and general health. A chewable multi, liquid fish oil, and powdered magnesium are the three I want to start. Problem is I am a freak over taking anything and I generally will give myself anxiety symptoms when I try.

Anyone else have anxiety taking things and how do you handle it? I usually try them when my husband is home but he's out of state working so I don't have that support.

none of those things are going to hurt you.  I take or have taken all of those plus more---pill type.  The fish oil may give you fishy burps.  It does me and to many folks.  There is a fish oil tab that doesn't do that.  It is a bit more expensive though.  I now take, each morning (not for anxiety depression though), l-lysine, multi v, calcium, d-3, fish oil and claritin.  Depending on the day I may also take sudafed and advil or tylenol.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
