Hello everyone,

Sometimes I think we tend to focus on what appears to be wrong, and we never take the time to celebrate or feel the relief of what we are fortunate to have.   I wanted to take this thread to focus on the aspects of physical health I do have. I invite others to do the same in trying to see the glass as half full and not half empty.

So here are my (physical wellness) blessings for the time being:

Stomach-  I have rarely have problems with my stomach.  It hardly ever bothers me.
Eyesight- Even though I started getting blurred vision and floaters, my eye sight has been relatively good my whole life.
Hearing- I have pretty good hearing.
Bones- I never broke a bone.
Headaches- I've always had headaches from time to time but I rarely get migraines anymore.
Bloodwork- In general my blood work comes out normal.
My back - My back has not been bothering me lately.  I feel mostly normal.
Sleep- I struggle with insomnia, but lately I've been sleeping through the night and waking feeling mostly rested.

What a great idea! I am going to do more of this.

Here is my list:

Skin- I have great, healthy-looking skin, with no real problems, other than the occasional zit...
Appetite- It's always been great-- maybe a little too great :P
Joints- Work perfectly!
Back- No back pain!
Head- Other than my "Crazymind" (as another friend with anxiety puts it), no headaches, or anything strange going on there
Energy Level- Great!

I have a lot to be thankful for!

I love the idea of counting blessings.  One of my favorite quotes is from Kurt Vonnegut who said 'I urge you to notice when you are happy'.  I've been trying, so here is my list of things going well.

Stomach and digestive system has been a-okay.
I swam for an hour last night and really pushed it, it felt good to test my silly idea that exercise will do me in.
Blood pressure has been great and I was taken off medication by my doctor.
Good eyes, hearing, smell.
Weight is stable despite my poor diet.
Never had a migraine.

Have a great night!

My family does a version of this from time to time... we call them "Happies."  We'll email each other with 5 things that made us happy that day, and it feels great. So good idea!

And great quote, doseq - I'm adding it to my positive quotes Google doc along with these:

"Everyone on this earth has a different story.  Just because something happens to a loved one doesn't mean that it will be my same story.  I have a lot of life left in me, and happy times ahead.  This thought is just an obtrusive thought but doesn't reflect reality. Today I resolve to make the most of the day, and triumph over any hurdles or challenges that might make their way towards me"

"What if today you weren't dying?  What if those aches and pains you feel were just aches and pains, and you're actually perfectly healthy?"

I love this idea too:  I wanna play and I'll do the best I can!

Bones: my bones and joints rarely bother me
Back and Feet: I know people with back and feet problems say they are the worst, and neither of mine give me troubles!
Appetite: NEVER wanes!  ;)
Cancer:  My endo says if I get one more negative scan, I can be considered CURED of my cancer!  :)
