Had physical and got a call from the doctor with results

I went to the doctor last week for a physical.  That is a big major step for me.  I do not like going to the doctor and that is one of my fears with HA.  But I did find a doctor that I really like and for me it is being responsible of me to make that step and go because I have a beautiful daughter that I love and want to set a good example for her.  She does not know anything about the HA that I experience she is 16 and I will tell her on of these days just in case she has any experience with it because I do think that it can be hereditary.  When I got home last night there was a message from the doctors office for me to call.  Again, this was last night so I could not call until this and my test results were I had elevated liver enzymes (2 points) and low vitamin D.  So she wants to see me again in three months.  She said to watch alcohol intake and taking any type of mediation like advil.  Has anyone had elevated liver enzymes?

tamig41,  I have had liver enzymes elevated by a few points on some of my physicals. It is usually caused be cholesterol meds or drinking alchohol. But if there was a problem it would be many times the normal not just a few points. I wouldn't worry.

Just found this site!  I'm in the same boat!  I had blood work last week and my AlK PHOs levels were "slightly elevated" according to the doc.  Well high normal is 92 and mine is 143!  I read that there are people out there that have elevations in the 300s or higher, but it has me scared.  I am having right under rib pain and back pain too as well as bowel and gas issues.  I go to the doctor today to talk to him.  He isn't concerned with the higher level because I take BP meds and he said that could be causing it.  I had an U/S last year with similiar symptoms, but these are a little different. 

I'm scared to death I have pancreatic cancer.  I have myself convinced of it.  I hate this, but I've been doing this for years.

Had a couple "elevated liver enzyme" tests.  Top reasons for elevated liver enzymes:

1. Drinking Alcohol.
2. No apparent reason.
3. Taking meds such as Tylenol
4. Fatty Liver.

None of which will kill you, (well maybe except the alcohol).

I used to run doctors all the time, but these days so scared.....and mostly about liver. I mean I have alcohol problem (somewhat under control at the moment), and obsessed about liver. So have to ask, if my liver enzymes are high (If drinking too much causes it, so I have it)......it gets better right??? I mean when not drinking for a few weeks or something? If serious liver problem there are symptoms right?

Yes, it will heal itself, especially at 30. Also, liver enzymes say nothing about liver function, only that liver has been damaged and they are VERY sensitive indicators.

Thanks for the replies.  I really appreciate it.  I think that advil which I take needs to be cut down too~  I guess keeping everything in check it a good thing and I appreciate all the support!

Did she tell you to supplement your vitamin d, also. I hope she did, vitamin d is so important.

Yes, I have a prescription for vitamin D that I have to pick up.  It seems like everyone I know is vitamin D deficient now a days....

oh yeah vitamin D is the vitamin du jour.  My hubs is on 4000mg a day.  My number was 34 which is in low normal.  doc wanted me to take 4000 but am taking only 2000.

Just watch next year some new "reasearch" will come out saying that vit d isn't the big deal it is mineral X and we'll all find out we are deficient.  LOL

You have that right!  And they keep lowering the cholesterol number too...so at one point we will be on medication and we will get poorer and the drug companies will keep getting richer!
