I was a carefree person 10 years ago.  Very laid back and not a care in the world.  Then 9/11 happened and my life has never been the same.  At first I was worried about another attack, but after awhile, my anxiety fixated on my health.  I have believed that I have every cancer there is out there.  I think that day I realized that life an be taken from you at any moment and I have tried to be vigilant in making sure that I catch anything I may have in time.  As of toad, I've never been diagnosed with anything serious, but as I write I'm very concerned that i have lymphoma or leukemia.  It,s so scary to always believe you are dying.  I hate that feeling, but have developed this belief system that worrying about stuff keeps the diseases at bay.  As much as I hate anxiety, i onside it all worth it if it keeps caner away!

I just want to learn to live my life without unfounded fear!

I just wanted you to know that you are not alone.
I too have thought and am currently thinking that I have the big "C"..
The one thing that keeps me hopeful is, I've been wrong before..many, many times.

But, I understand what you mean by saying you feel if you constantly think about it and are looking for it, you'll find it in time.

That's why its so hard to let go of the control..but the funny thing is and I wish I could take my own advice..we are not the ones in control of life and death...but what we are in control of is how we choose to LIVE our LIFE.

Right now, I'm right there with you, worrying my life away.  I don't want to look back one day, if the unimaginable ever does occur..and say, dang..look at all that time I had to live and be free..I wasted it all..worrying.
