i'm searching for some solid ground, after treading though this agony

i have been treading for far to long
riding the waves deeper
no end in sight
i wonder why i even fight
i have been searching the horizon
wanting solid ground
will it ever happen
the undertow's taking me down
off in the far distance
is that a beacon of hope?
if only i can make it
getting tired with ever stroke
wish i had a life vest
something to ease the pain
why is it every monent
i think i am insane
i wish that i could stop it
happiness slipping from my grasp
far and few it seems
i need to stop this treading
and find the higher ground
my question, always asking
where can it be found
