im getting so sick and tired of all of this now. im 99.9% sure that i have tonsil cancer. my left tonsil is a lot bigger than my right and has a lump in the middle of it. when i swallow its like nothing will go down that side of my throat and i can feel it in my neck as well on one side, like a fullness feeling it also feels like my left ear is blocked up and i can hear a noise every time i swallow. im getting so frustrated because i cant even leave the house at all because i feel so rubbish, and i really want to go out tonight. my 'anxiety'symptoms NEVER EVER go away they are PERMEMANTLY there. :(im only 16!!!!!!

ok first off you're 16. Tonsil cancer (as we both know bc we both think we have it) usually occurs in males over the age of 60. Have you went to the dr about your tonsil? And if so what happened?

I know exactly what you are going through! I was there (still am at days) I got to the point where i was convinced i had it..i stopped doing everything but going online and looking up cancer. i didn't eat, go out, only went to work and came home. even that was struggle. My right ear still hurts and is all clogged up (the side that my tonsil is enlarged) and it is still freaking me out even though the dr said its nothing and my tonsil and ear are fine.

my tonsil have been enlarged for god knows how long and i had no symptoms. the second i convinced myseif it was something serious i started to get a soar throat, tightnesss, difficulty swallowing, an ear ache...now is this in my head, I hope so, it would make sense.

so if you are concerned go to the dr (unless you've already been there then don't waste time/money) wat the dr told me is what we think (aka non doctors) is a really enlagred tonsil is usually only a little bit bigger than the other one (even though it looks hugh to us) and that it is perfectly normal to have asymterical tonsils (almost everyone does)

so please please please please stop doing this to yourself bc i know exaclty what you are doing. i wasted about 3 weeks of my life convinced i had cancer. we cannot live like this!

ive seen my gp 3 times for it and a peadiatrition and both of them say its fine. but i just cant believe them because i smoke and drink and its bothering me so much. im so fed up with feeling so ill permemantly and i just cant go out. i haven't been out for a year just because i feel so rubbish

i know! i too went to 3 gp's and finally went to an ENT. I got to the point (like you) where I just couldn't take it anymore. It had to be something! Of course it was bc i had to read every horror story of tonsil cancer and the symptoms and the treatment. i made myself physically and mentally sick. Its hard when evern the doctors can't put our mind at ease but I have talked to a bunch of people on this forum who have an enlarged tonsil and now 4 doctors who all say its perfectly normal to have one enlarged tonsil! I know that whatever I say isn't going to convince you otherwise but what kind of living is this anyway? You're scared that you're dying of cancer but yet you're not living at all??? i know iits hard. I'm having trouble right now because my ear hurts but plesae know that you are not alone with this feeling and that you are fine!!!!!!
