I'm 24. I feel like my anxiety was both environmental and hereditary. I saw my mom have anxiety attacks and I promised myself that I wouldn't end up like that, and guess what!? We are a lot alike and not just in looks.

I also had some robberies, bullets hit my car, an exceptionally difficult coworker, over the past 3-4 years and me bottling everything up just ended up resulting in me breaking and having anxiety. It has been tough.

I'm 41, and've had anxiety and related issues my whole life. Hormones, and heredity, play a big part, I've found, and then there are all the things life and your environment throw your way. It's a complicated and ever-changing mix.

I'm 18, and I think I have had a little bit of OCD, depression, or anxiety (never been diagnosed with anything) as far as I remember. Although it seemed to get really bad about two years ago.

my anxiety started as a teenager and it hasn't gone away. I hope as I get older, it's less of a problem. Right now I'm 21. Just because I'm an adult, does not make feel better about anxiety.

I am 30 and my anxiety started in 2005, calmed a bit and now its back worse than before.

I'm 26 years old.  I've always had anxiety but it started to get worse in college (severe social anxiety, the fear of failing, etc.) It got a lot better after graduating a few years ago but has been back lately I think due to the stress of buying a new house.

I'm 27 and have gone through two cycles of anxiety. Once when I first started college when I was 18. The second was last year when I got a new job. My anxiety seems to be tied with big life changes. im hoping this cycle ends soon!

I am 32 and i think that i have had anxiety for a long time and just never new it. Over the last few years it has gotten worse to the point that it made me loose the job of my dreams. Things have been tough but i think that this will help me learn to deal with my symptoms so that i can get on with living my life.

Im 42 yrs old, i have been dealing with GAD, social anxiety disorder and depression just about all my life. It's hereditary unfortunately, so i've just learned to deal with it the best i know how.

Its interesting that most users are in my age bracket. But I can't generalize to the overall population because this is far from a randomized selection of persons

I'm 35 now, and my anxiety was definitely worse in my late 20s...trips to the ER and the whole bit. It was all but gone for over 2 years, but I've had a few episodes lately. Not as severe - or maybe they are and my coping skills are better. Anyway, felt a tug to look around here for solidarity and support.

I remember having panic attacks when I was in my early 20's.  I've had maybe three, until the last few months.  Then things have gotten worse when I had one in Feb.  I'm now 37.  But, like my mother, I've become a worrier and it has gotten worse lately.

Im 28 will be 29 this yr. My anxiety & everything else got really bad in 2009 when I miscarried. Was doing fairly good with meds & time. Lost my insurance so couldnt go to the dr no more. Recently the love of my life & youngest two kids father got killed Jan 23rd....now Im doin really bad again. Cant keep my emotions & panic attacks in check. So thats part of the reason why I am here.

I'm 24, had my first anxiety scare when I was 13 but it went away until I was 17 and have had anxiety, depression, and insomnia ever since and am still struggling.
