i have had bad anxiety since '06. up until very recently (about 2 months ago) i never had tingeling. now it seems like i have a tingle episode at least once a day.

some things i have noticed:
1) sometimes i can tingle and i dont feel particularly anxious at the moment
2) it can feel VERY strong esp in my feet (like in a panic attack) or it can be a very slight tingle in my leg, tongue, arm- you name it
3) it can feel like a slight buzzing or it can feel like that part of the body has literally fallen asleep despite me moving the area or limb

just wondering how others experience this anxiety tingeling. i think its weird i never used to tingle (despite my bad anxiety) but now i do (although i will admit this is the worst period my anxiety has ever been.) has this happened to anyone?

I do the same sorts of things.  buzzing is very common with anxiety and just being stressed or overworked muscles.  Tingling comes from anxiet too.  It can also come from mildly impinged nerves.  Hell I have numb areas on my bod for years because of nerve issues--ie disks pushed on nerves enough to damage them but not enough to cause a dire result.  Anxiety symptoms change around. We may be wacked but we aren't stupid.... if anxiety symptom stayed the same and didn't kill us, then anxiety really wouldn't have a hold on us because we'd know what it was and just move on.  However we are not stupid and so our minds continually change things up to keep us freaky.

you weren't even anxious???  that is the MOST common comment seen around here.  I mean truly.  Remember anxiety doesn't have an on/off switch.  it is more like a dimmer--sometimes it is just fully lit.  Your mind and body didn't get itself in this pickle overnight.  One relaxing day or a few moments of not fretting about something does NOT  mean you are not anxious. Your body is in over-reactive mode and can and will just go off willy/nilly until your mind/body (overtime) calm back down.  Even then, since your mind/body has learned how to somatize anxiety, even minor stresses can cause symptoms to return.

Remember your body is in over reaction---fight or flight is stuck in the ON position----your mind/body continually thinks you are running from a bear.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

my current bad 'symptom' is buzzy, tingley and numb sensations on my lip, tongue and nose. the nose is the worst because it feels like i can't breathe in and after a while the panic from that causes my throat to feel like it's closing, making talking difficult. it can last (the buzzy stuff) for hours and hours...  i hate it.

Ain't it the truth.  Why does my mind have to be so damn creative and even worse, why does it think it has to battle against my and why so determined to always win the battle.

I have been dealing with the internal vibration, tingly thing for several months now Ms.  This is a new symptom for me too (and I was diagnosed with GAD - although it wasn't called that back then - over 30 years ago)  And exactly like Sixpack says - my body has to keep switching my symptoms up on me.  One will go away for years (heck decades in some cases) only to return later when I have forgotten how to cope with it.  So I get to learn all over again.  And then, every once in awhile I will be thrown a curveball with some completely new symptom that totally throws me for a loop.

May I add - IT GETS REALLY REALLY OLD!  Tired of the fight, but will keep it up nonetheless.  *BIG SIGH*

right now I have a tingly itchy feeling in my upper back - the more I think about it the worse it gets - I totally think it is anxiety related!  I am actually doing quite well and I am not uber aware of being anxious but I think my body still plays tricks on me!
