what the ???
« on: June 02, 2007, 03:20:41 PM »
OK this is getting ridiculous.  I couldnt sleep at all last night.  Every 20 minutes i would wake up with this strange feeling like i am vibrating or having some sort of whole body mini spasm or something.  not like jerking or something like that, but just like i am vibrating.  i get this tingling and pressure in my head then i feel my entire body including head is vibrating.  then i get up, relax for a minute, and it goes away.  i go back to sleep, as im falling asleep i start vibrating again.  i try to sleep, i sleep 10 minutes, i wake up, and there it is again! vibrating! feels like im having a mini seizure or a heart attack or i dont know what the heck it is.  happened like 5 times last night.  then in the morning when im kind of half asleep half awake same thing happens, i get up stretch, then fall back asleep and then boom, start vibrating.  im sick of this its making me dread going to sleep and waking up in the morning, i used to love going to sleep that was one of the times i could just relax and do some thinking. THEN WHEN I GET OUT OF BED, I DONT FEEL THE VIBRATIIONS ANY MORE.  what the ??? i mean, i still feel numbness and tingling and lightheaded,  maybe i get tightness in my legs or arms or something, but i dont get the vibrations during the day.   its getting annoying, has anyone else experienced this?  well i have a ct scan on monday so maybe something might show up.

Are the vibrations spasms/muscle twitches? I get a lot of vibrations in my body when I sleep very little. You appear to have some of the same sleeping problems that I do. A few minutes here and then suddenly hours of worry with no sleep. The problem with anxiety is that every small anomaly becomes a serious symptom, and oddity that grabs our focus.  Good luck on Monday and I hope everything goes well for you on Monday!

I have the same pain in my joints and muscles as well. I wonder if constant worrying makes our joints ache due to lack of sleep, worry, and heightened anxiety. My joints do not seem to ache when my mind is away from the obsessing portion of my health. Take care

I get this same sort of feeling some nights. For me it seems to happen when I'm overstimulated, like I've spent the evening with people talking (yes that's overstimulating for me!), or if I've had some caffeine or too much sugar I think. I don't know what it is but it's horrible and annoying. Like a buzzing in my head, as if my brain is hyperactive or something. And occasional dizziness/feeling of falling, too.

A sanderella is a mythical creature in Algerian folklore, similar to a mermaid. It is used as a cute nickname.

I used to get RLS Restless Leg Syndrome and it was a direct result of the amount of caffeine I was drinking.  I stopped drinking things with caffeine and the RLS went away and I have not had a problem with vibrating legs at night since.  It could also happen naturally just because of anxiety and the only cure for that is to do something physical.  An old therapist and friend of mine told me once that when I feel anxious I should go running.  He said if I did that not only would it put the adrenaline to good use, but I would get into shape.  It was great advice.  Maybe next time you feel restless, if it isn't too late, go run around the block and then take a nice cool shower.  That should get you ready for bed.  If that doesn't work Melatonin and Valerian both work phenomenally to help you relax before bed.

Take care,
OE
