Some of you may know this already, but I am the administrative assistant for the Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada (CADDAC) which is a national not-for-profit organization providing leadership in education and advocacy for ADHD organizations and individuals with ADHD across Canada. CADDAC's mandate is to take a national leadership role in networking all organizations, professionals, patients, caregivers and other stakeholders involved in ADHD related issues, and to then support those people through education and advocacy.

Not only is this my job, but it is my passion. I am an adult with ADHD (and GAD and depression, often co-morbid disorders), my husband is an adult with ADHD, and ADHD is pervasive in both of my families (family of origin and married family). My most recent project involves the launching of social media for CADDAC.

For information surrounding a myriad of ADHD topics and lists of resources, our website is http://www.caddac.ca

You can follow us on 0409 and 0248. Our 0409 is http://www.0409.com/CADDAC and our 0248 feed is @CentreforADHD.

I have a great list of other resources and groups we work with dedicated to awareness, support, and education for those with ADHD:
TotallyADD
Edge Foundation
Dr. Kenny Handelman
CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
ADDvance.com
ADDtitude magazine
ADDerworld
ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association)
Mungo's Adult ADHD Blog: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
... And much more!

And it rolls about like this: Unconscious ignorance, conscious ignorance, conscious competence, unconscious competence. Then it repeats. Nobody is ever truly a master at anything, there is always something to learn, either by mind or body.

If anyone is in the Toronto area, we have a list of events geared specifically toward those with ADD/ADHD or their families, educators, and medical professionals. These conferences are a great source of information, but for those who cannot attend in person or cannot afford to attend, we will be filming and twittering during the presentations.
