Nighttime Anxiety - 4-6a.m sleep schedule.. Insomnia?

In these past few months i have not been able to sleep before the sun rises for some reason. At night the only thought that gives me anxiety is to actually fall asleep. I thought of this just as a bad habbit once, but now i just cannot ignore it anymore. Im not a 'night owl' anymore, i think i have become mildly insomniac because of my anxiety. I think i can sleep but my mind just doesnt want to at night.. I used to think that i choose to not sleep at night because i enjoy doing things at night.. But i guess thats not the case anymore...

Can anyone relate?

P.s: i slept at 2 a.m last week and i thought that was a miracle cause its so early haha.. This is sad :(

Oh boy can I. It's after 3am here and no signs of being tired.  :o  I'm up til the crack of dawn, then only sleep a few hours. Mine seems to be intermittent though - this can last a couple weeks then I get back on a schedule [of sorts] of going to bed before midnight. But these times when sleep is so elusive is maddening!

I'm hoping when I get on a regular schedule with my meds that this will help. Time will tell.

I totally understand.... I often can't go to sleep or i wake up at really early hours feeling really anxious and then afraid to go back to sleep (like right now!) So you are definitely not alone in your struggle to sleep...being on here helps a bit though  :winking0008:

Yeah I hate it so much.. It used to be at 2am..then 3am..then 4..5... now it's 6 or sometimes 7 or 9.... a.m. .... it's so bad.. But thank god I have no school/not working.
When I have school my brain probably adjusts my time schedule by itself..hopefully...  :angry:
