So I have had a brain tumour fear on and off for a two years now. I've never had a CT or MRI done which I think is a pretty good effort but now I think i need these scans done in order to give me peace of mind. I have a slight droopy eye on the left side and my dr doesn't seem concerned and either does the optomestrist. I also have this feeling of fullness or like there is something in my left ear which is very concerning and the fact that they are both on the left side really concerns me. I have also had left sided shoulder and chest pain on and off for almost two years. To me all of these pains being left sided can not be a coincidence! I also sometimes get an electric shock type feeling between my two fingers on the right hand. I am convinced that I have a brain tumour!

Not only am I dealing with all of that but I also have a lump on the roof of my mouth which my dr says is just an inflamed mucuous membrane or something.

I just want my life to go back to normal :( I can't keep living like this! I am 23 and I should be out having fun and enjoying my life not worrying about my health every single day! As we speak it feels like there is water in my ear but there isn't! This ear thing has been happening on and off for a few months now.

Any advice or if anyone has experienced any of these things as part of hypochondria then I would love to hear from you. I really think I need a CT scan done so I can put my mind at ease or in my mind so that they can tell me that I have a brain tumour!

Well, I am afraid of brain tumors as well, um. Here's my theory about the ears popping, at least for me, I have had ear congestion problems since I was born, so EVERY TIME in my whole life that I swallow they make that sound, I mean EVERY TIME. The feeling full in your ear thing is probably built-up earwax, I've had it happen so many times, also when I had swimmer's ear the same thing would happen. Sometimes I've gotten that full ear feeling and headaches and not been able to shut my mouth all the way because I physically feel something blocking the way, this happens if I sing too much or if I have an ear infection. I don't understand your connection with the ear stuff to the brain tumor... If you have sinus congestion(like I get) and sinus pressure problems, it will make your ears do weird things. I am afraid of every disease known to mankind these past several months and just had a CT Scan of my head on saturday, I am waiting for the results as we speak.

I have been having horrible anxiety about my son, who has a droopy eye as well. His isn't constant, but when it occurs it droops to the level of his pupil. He has had an MRI however and it was normal. That should help alleviate your concern somewhat, and the fact that his doctor and eye doctor did not want him to have the test, it was I who pushed it forward for my own fears. And to be honest? It hasn't helped. The fear that there is a brain tumor or something else is your anxiety talking, just as it's mine. If two doctors have told you that your eye is okay, then Im sure it is. Another poster on here even believes that in getting the mri done on my son has only made my anxiety worse because it somehow validated it as an actual problem. Perhaps something to consider.

Thanks for your replies! I am very tempted to go and see my dr within the next couple of days however I am one of those people those goes to the dr the moment a little bump appears or the moment I get some tingling feelings in my arm and I'm just worried that the doctor wont take me seriously. Last night when I was really starting to freak out about it I felt my ear fullness get worse then my ear hurt then I started getting tingling sensations in various parts of my body and then I started to get an electric shock feeling between two of my fingers (i seem to get this shock when I have been doing repetetive motions with that hand).

The ear thing however continues to worry me. I'm tempted to go see a different dr just to prevent the embaressement and having to explain to my dr why I'm there to see him again! grrrrrr

The feeling in my left ear seems to be getting worse. It really feels like there is fluid inside my ear or something in there. And everytime i chew there is a loud clicking sound in my ear. I'm getting more and more concerned! I am really going to try and get a dr appointment tomorrow!

i can totally relate to your fear of brain tumour, i lost my younger sister and beautiful mother to brain tumours, and as you can imagine any kind of headache or pain freaks me right out. the drs say its just bad luck and i dont have anything to worry about but nothing they do or say can get the thought out of my head. whenever one of my kids complain of a headache that lasts for more than a day i have a complete meltdown. i have lived with this for a long time and just want to stop worrying for nothing and enjoy the moment.
