Fibromyalgia Issues-Looking for Support
« on: July 07, 2011, 01:01:12 AM »
Hi everyone,

I've been having some difficulties in my fibromyalgia recently. My current problem is that my legs and arms are hurting severely and my family says it's nothing. No one gets that fibromyalgia can disturb my life. I want people out there to understand that it's a silent and painful disorder. I am in so much pain right now I'm at a point where I want to cry. If I get up tomorrow and the pain is worse, I will call in sick to work. I can't put up with 8 hours of standing on my feet all day where I'm in severe pain to walk and stand.

While I am not diagnosed with CFS, my mom is, and I know how it is. My mom used to not be able to get out of bed in the mornings, she could only get out at noon or later. She felt horrible. She can't work anymore and she's on disability. She has been on many many drugs and been to nearly every doctor. Even after through all this, she hasn't seen many great results - it seems like there is really no cure. And exercise doesn't help my mom either. I just wanted to post here and let you know that you aren't alone. My mom is also very frustrated with the fact that it's something that's very underestimated, people aren't aware of how bad it is. So stay strong! Wish I could help somehow

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
