****TRIGGER*****I need the hospital, Feeling so depressed its scary!!

For the past 5 days I have been so incredibly depressed,am not sleeping well,and am having manic episodes. 2 weeks ago I had 3 ECT treatments because I was spiraling downward fast. I had them on an outpatient basis.
I saw my Pdoc and for the time being we decided to leave my meds as is:

Lexapro 25 mg
Synthroid 100 mcg
Lithium 450 mg 2X/day
Seroquel 800 mg
Prasosin 1mg am, 2 mg @nt
Neurontin 300 mg
Klonopin .05 mg 0213 nt

I called her last Fri and told her how I was feeling and we decided that it would be the time to get admitted inpatient. I was there last Oct for 11 days and this is an incredibly great hospital.Lots of support groups,very diligent about meds,etc.
So I've been playing the waiting game as there are presently no beds available there. There is no other hospital for psych care(I live in a very rural area and the hosp I'm waiting for is 2 hrs away.
I have a very supportive BF who I live with(5yrs) but it still isn't enough for me. Basically my Pdoc calls each day to check on availability, that's how things work there.
I think I need to call her Wed. am and see if she can make some med changes, I just can't be on hold anymore and I'm afraid.

Can you ring her today?  Is there an emergency number she has?  You must try and speak to her today she might be able to advise on a higher med dose over the phone as an emergency action.

Are you bipolar?  You sound so awful.  Is there a hospital you can go to for emergency?  I have gone to emergency during a manic episode and got temporary help till my doc was available.

Try to get in touch with your doctor again, i'm sure they can do something so you don't feel so horrible. Maybe you could go to another hospital temproraily until the one your waiting on has a bed available. I hope you feel better soon!

I think that its important for you to not be alone right now.  Reaching out and talking on this forum shows the strength that you have.  The advice the others gave about going to the emergency room I think was wise.  I have a friend who suffered for years with depression.  The Dr. had her on all soughts of meds.  Finally, after feeling that this dr. wasn't really helping her she switched dr's and the new one took her off some of the meds because she believed that they were only exsasperating her symptoms.  She was right and now my friend is feeling so much better.  I'm telling you this because you need to know that though your feeling awful right now, you will feel better soon with the proper assessment and treatment. Try to say to yourself everday, "I'm stronger today than I was yesterday".  I know it helped me through my own suffering.  You will be OK.  Just get in touch with your Dr, emt, or ask a friend to help you do so. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
