Tightness in throat and chest when eating
« on: June 06, 2011, 05:03:37 AM »
Hello!

The other day we got take out food from the deli at our local grocery store and I took a bite of a jojo (fried potato) and I got this really severe tightness in my chest and throat...I do get this a lot when I eat fries or other foods with the same consistency, but this time I really thought I couldn't breath and almost had a panic attack.

Does anyone else get this feeling? My husband always blows me off and says he's never felt it, but I'm just wondering if it's normal or not.

Also trying to not worry about a couple of itchy bumps on my elbow and my twitching eyelid...

Pretty sure the bumps are from moving and packing today...or sweat because it was actually warm here today and the twitching eyelid has been going on for 4 days now and I'm sure it's from lack of sleep...

 Hi Jen,

I do know that anxiety+ anxiety attacks can do weird things similar to my body too.  Example I tend to get a gag reflex when trying to finish all of my food.  Brothers say I'm such a slow eater >:(  haha and I'm sure consistency has a thing to do with it also.  Sometimes I gag at that too.  I'm not a doctor,  but I can relate to some things.  maybe if you just try to keep eating the things you enjoy! :happy0151:  And the healthy products you love too.  i know when I'm eating my pasta ;D  I don't get that effect.  It's hard especialy when you talk to people who do not understand.  this site is great :happy0151:.

And If this is similar to the itchiness,  I have pretty itchy patches on my elbows too.  Need to get some special cream from the doctor.  I notice they do go away when not bothered/scratched. When scratching can irritate again.  I was panicking saying, I know it I have psoriasis!  And the usual eye rolling at me :(  ten was talking to my cousins about that, turns out they have the same thing.  The weather can have the effect on it especialy in the winter and summer time when your sweating.  What a pain it is .  And yes allergies + anxiety works on my eyes at times.
