It's raining outside.   :traurig001:
I guess some people would call it light rain...
But I am scared poopless!!!  :traurig001:
Rain and Storms control my life. I took an exam on rain fears and I have "sever rain fear".
I knew that.
I cannot talk myself out of this. It literally controls my life. I don't go anywhere until I check the weather at least 5 times.
I am supposed to babysit my best friend's kids tonight and I am exhausted just from being scared.
I need help...... :traurig001:.....
Anyone want to take a stab at it?

Sarah,

Have you tried to go outside and just watch a good storm?  It truly is exhilarating.  The rain comes and cleans everything and the air becomes cool.  I find storms to be very relaxing.  Is your fear based on tornadoes, hail, or something dangerous within the storm, or just the rain?  I am sure that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy would help, but it would also require a leap of faith on your part to go outside and stand in the rain because most likely your appointments won't always be on a rainy day.  LOL.  Meditation is also wonderful to help you relax.

Try to face your fear and see what happens.  Don't go outside in a huge thunderstorm, but next time you get a little rain maybe go outside and sit in a chair on a porch and read a book.  I think you will find it quit pleasant after the initial anxiety has passed.

I agree cognative behaviour therapy could help you here.  You need to discover what the true fear is.  Then you can come up with a plan of action.  Talking yourself out of the fear maybe with more logical thinking.  It may take some time but worth it.  I was severely scared of beetles and have come so far with it doing this kind of therapy.
