Would valium be good for me?
« on: April 25, 2011, 08:43:38 AM »
I have anxiety in particular situations nowadays rather than so much all the time which is nice. (agoraphobia and panic disorder)
The issue is I'm getting married in a few months and I am really nervous to be stuck up front and center for so long. I don't know how I'll stand it.
My fiance's sister whom does not have an anxiety disorder obtained valium for her wedding.
I am prescribed klonopin for my anxiety.
Is valium even any better than klonopin in this case? Could valium make me either want to fall asleep or not work as well as the klonopin?
I honestly wonder how I'd be able to handle this if I didn't know she was so nervous because she never seems to be.
:-(
Should I be good with my klonopin or see the psychiatrist about valium? What's the difference? I just know valium is prescribed for people that are getting LASIK, that laser eye surgery... and if it calms them down enough to be able to do that I thought perhaps it should help. But I also figure it must make you want to fall right asleep?

they are both benzoes and work roughly the same way.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

I don't use either but both on have long half lives. Stick with Klonopin. Ask your doctor if you can supplement that with something fast acting  to get you through being front and center.
