Switching benzos
« on: April 19, 2011, 06:06:02 PM »
Just curious..I ran out of xanax XR two days ago and have been taking my boyfriend's .5 Ativans about 3 times a day. They seem to help with my anxiety for a few hours but then I keep having flashes of anxiety all throughout the day, along with really bad headaches, and some mild depression. Do you think that I could be going through withdrawal from the xanax, despite being on another benzo?

That's equivalent to about .75 mg Xanax/day. Compare that with how much XR your were taking. When I tried XR, I took 1 mg. twice a day and when I switched back to Ativan, I used up to 4mgs. a day. Now take ATivan   PRN for tinnitus. Never had a problem switching but did have interdose withdrawl like symptoms between XR dose.
