Valium Question
« on: April 18, 2011, 07:46:50 PM »
Hi, everyone!

So, Saturday night I ended up having to go to the ER because of a panic attack :/  However, when they gave me Valium to calm me down (just one injection), I freaked out even more!  I just really disliked the feeling of it.  Anyway, now that it has been almost 2 days since my dosage, I feel as though I am still feeling the effects from it (most problematic for me are nausea, weak pulse, and just a general spacey feeling)  .  Has anyone ever had an experience like this?  I know Valium is one of the longest lasting benzo's and can stay in your system for a few days, but I am having trouble finding instances of people having side effects for days.

Thanks for any input!

You weren't taking anything, had a panic attack, went to the ER where they gave you Valium by injection and you got all worked up over the feeling of the valium and they sent you home and now you feel how? Did the Valium at any point calm you down? What did the ER people say about your reaction?

I really never felt calmed by the Valium, I think I just eventually came down (slightly) from the panic. I tend to not react well to many sedatives, they just flip me out often.  Now I have a weak pulse and just feel spacey. I know I tend to overreact to these things, but it's really bugging me because I can't sleep because of the weak pulse. The ER people honestly kind of ignored my response to it.  Anyway, does Valium produce some sort of "hangover" or something?

I doubt you have a hangover effect from Valium given taken two days ago. Maybe you need "something" else to calm you down know so you stopping thinking about which may be your overarching problem. You shouldn't be worrying about it  --these are mild medications when used a prescribed. In short, you "need something" obviously; discuss that with your doctor.
