So, I do tend to be a sort of a worry wort, and have found I sometimes get anxious around the time of aunt flo, but, during the past three weeks I have felt this feeling of anxiety that has increased in the past week to the point of leaving me crying for no reason, going to the er twice, and just not sure of what to do.

I am waiting for an appointment with a therapist, and just hope I can get help soon. I don't know what is wrong. I am actually hoping for auntie flo to come as I think that is part of why I am having the severe anxiety.

Has anyone here ever checked themselves into a hospital for anxiety? I am single gal and I work hard, and, I am so worried about developing an anxiety disorder. I hope this is just some weird fluke and that I get back to my usual self.

Hello tatooedchick,

Welcome to the forum!

Weather you have an anxiety disorder or just a worried wort, you will find solutions here on how to deal with this!  It may seem a little more than just the normal worrying that you are experiencing!  Checking yourself into the ER twice from anxiety and crying is not the usual thing to do for someone that can deal with these issues!  Regardless of weather you have an anxiety disorder or not, this is something that you have to learn to deal with or else it can develop into something more!  Also I have never commited myself into a hospital for anxiety, although I was admitted overnite once for going to the ER for a panic attack that I thought was dire!  Lots of supportive members with extensive knowledge on these issues!  You are far from being alone!  Browse through the site and see if you can identify with some of the postings!  I think you will find it very comforting just being here and learning a thing or two!  Glad to have you here!

It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.

no on is immune to the affects of worry/stress/life.  Even if you do have an anxiety disorder, you can work through it.  It wouldn't be a world ender.  Please have a look around.  I'm sure you will find a lot of great advice tucked in all the nooks and crannies

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
