I don't know the answer to this one, but can symptoms(burning tongue, headaches, numbness in extremities) subside when your not feeling "anxious" about anything? I mean, if your distracted by something or just having a generally "good" day, do your symptoms go away or lessen somewhat,  or are they always there?

That being said, if they do dissipate a little, when they come back do they hit harder?

How do we get off this rollercoaster?

This is a common question that some people ask, including myself!  The answer is YES!  Symptoms can be occurring even in the absense of anxiety, even if your feeling well, and even when you are sleeping!  Symptoms can come back harder, especially if we are already feeling anxious!  It is what your mind tells yourself (reaction) that can cause it to feel worse!  If you have coping strategies to deal with anxiety/panic the symptoms tend to not feel too intense!

It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.

Well I don't know the answer, but I sure hope so because I didn't feel anxious today but my symptoms were definitely still present.  :fragend005:

100% yes....your anxiety symptoms are actually more likely to come out when YOUR NOT anxious ...and this came from two Drs that Ive seen. what happens is,,, our bodies are in constant fight or flight mode, with adreniline rushing, racing thoughts , etc. So when we finally (if at all) calm down even for a little while..all of that action with our bodies starts coming out in physical symptoms. make sense? it didnt to me at first, but when i really thought about it, its' the same with me to. -----I;m on the go all day, I have a VERY busy job, long hours always on the go etc, i have a baby at home,,,,so im busy, busy ,busy....and always anxious while im busy....but feel nothing physical.

The minute i sit down finally at the end of the day, I "feel" relaxed....but then i start twitching, palpatating, shaking and tingling....wierd huh?

This happens to me. I will think I am fine. Going all day and being distracted. I will workout for 45 minutes no issues and when i stop my eyelid twitches. Or I take a shower to relax and my eye twitches. Happened last night. On the go all day and when I finally lay down to sleep my leg twitched. I often leave the supermarket or somewhere and realize hey, I had no symptoms while I was there. THat is when the dizziness/chestpain/whatever symptom of the week shows up.

I can say yes from personal experience and I can also state from a knowledge viewpoint that chronic (as in ongoing and longstanding) physical anxiety symptoms are totally independent from our current mental situation.

I don't know if this is directily related to your particular symptoms, but a counselor once told me that "anxiety is excitement without the breath" -- meaning,  if you breathe into it you might discover you actually feel excited!  (especially if you're actually feeling good, and it isn't something to really be anxious about!)   You're just so used to experiencing those (or similar) symptoms and relating them to anxiety.   I've tried it and it has worked for me.  Worth a try -  I hope it works for you!
