Vomiting like crazy!
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:41:32 AM »
I'm freaking out because my 9yr old woke me up at about 1:30am cause she was vomiting. She vomited about 3 times before we went back to sleep and a little later at about 4:30am, I got woken up again because she was vomiting again! Then my 5yr old woke up vomiting as well! So now it's about 6:30am and my 9 yr old has vomited between 10-12 times threw out the night and my 5 yr old 3 times! I refuse to Go ogle but I'm freaking out because it came out of nowhere and they both go to different schools so they couldn't have caught a bug from school or something, right? They don't have fevers but they keep vomiting without having eaten or drunk anything and I'm worried about what could be wrong with them and about dehydration!!! Plus, I'm worried about my other children and I'm freaking out about everything...........And now, I'm feeling nauseated as well  :Tuareg001:

Hi:) No need to panic...I know its hard:) Kids get bugs all the time. Call the Docs office this morning and tell them what is up.

Can they drink (keep down) some liquids? No fever is good, also:)

Don't let your anxiety run away with you in thinking worst case scenarios. Kids get sick (as do grown ups with HA) from time to time and those germs are pretty easy to pass along to other kids.

Call Doc and go from there.

Hang in there...all will be fine:)

I would call their pediatrician as they may have some form of virus or flu.

definitely just sounds like a virus or maybe food poisoning. i had that a lot when i was a kid. it should go away within 24 hours, just make sure they stay hydrated. if it doesn't go away after 24-48 hours then take them to the doctor but i have no doubt it will. man i still remember how bad that sucked even when i was 5 i thought i was dying lol

Thank you so much for your responses ;)
I'm washing all the blankets and everything.
Opening all the windows and I sent my mom to the store for me to get some Emetrol, Lysol, crackers and Gatorade.
I hope this works and I hope me or my other children don't catch it......
As mentioned above, if it persists, I will take them to the doc.
Thank you so much for your advice ;)

That nasty stomach virus!!  It spreads like crazy!  Good idea washing everything.  Its totally harmless, and very common in school age children.  Just keep them hydrated.  Not too much at a time or else it will all come back up    Keep them on a more bland diet, even when they are feeling better. Toast, crackers, bananas....things like that.  Hope they are feeling better!

My daughter woke me up at 2am about three weeks ago. She was throwing up a lot. She had spent the day with a cousin who had been sick. Next thing I know my wife is sick too. I never caught whatever it was but it lasted about 3 days. Hope y'all get well soon.

Well, my 8 yr old ended up coming down with it too and I'm beginning to feel really really awful as well  :sick0002:
My stomach hurts so bad......I feel like I have to stay lying in one position cause when I move, even a little, my stomach begins to churn and ache something awful  :traurig001:
I hate being sick! And vomiting is the worst! I kept telling myself that it was just my anxiety and that it was all in my head.......I really wanted to believe that this time, lol.
Ugh, how am I supposed to take care of my babies with me feeling like this?
And my husband's gone out of town and he's not going to be back for months so he's not even here to help me :(
The only one who hasn't gotten it yet is my baby boy....the 3 yr. old. He's all happy, running around and playing, lol.
The only thing he can do is make us all laugh, lol.
*sigh*

I'm so sorry that you had to go through this!  I, too, had my son one day throw up all over, and he was also complaining of a really bad headache and couldn't even stand!  At the time, I was in a period where my anxiety was at its peak!  I took him temperature and it was 104 degrees!  That freaked me out more and I panicked!  My wife was at work and I was frantic!  I called my brother and his wife!  They came right over, and told me that their daughter had something similar just days ago!  I was about to take my son to the ER, because I was thinking the worse!  My brother and his wife handled the situation in a calm matter and told me that the ER is going to just give some aspirin and you would be waiting for a few hours to be seen!  They handled things well!  Thank God for family!

It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.
