On Social Security for PTSD non-Veteran. Any ideas for help?
« on: March 19, 2011, 10:44:43 PM »
Hello out there. I am a 47 yr. old female that is trying to get help without insurance until my Medicare kicks in on October 1st, 2011. I have PTSD, depression and an eating disorder. My problem is finding help for my PTSD. I am not a Vet so I can not go to the Vet Center, and I my anger issues are so bad I have lost jobs, hence I am on Social Security now. It is killing my relationships with family and my boyfriend. I pray I have the right medication now, and I wondered if anyone out there could give me anymore advice? Thank you so much!

Depending on where you live, there are often community based treatment options available that will provide treatment for mental health issues for little or no cost. Take a look at some of the big agencies in your area and ask if they provide charity care or sliding fee.
