Is anyone else paranoid about this?
« on: April 17, 2007, 05:15:00 AM »
Just wondering if anyone else out there suffering health anxiety worries about things like mobile/cordless phones, electric pylons, mobile masts, sleeping near electric items, computers, X-Rays etc? I know it sounds really stupid, but after all the health scares on the news, I started avoiding them. Then I read up on the internet about Electromagnetic Fields and scared myself stupid that it might cause me to become ill in the future e.g. using a mobile phone when I was younger. I get all panicky if I'm just near an electric pylon for a few seconds, then spend hours afterwards worrying that it might have caused something. Please tell me this isn't just me.

Just think of all the countless millions of mobile phones that have been used the past 20 years for many hours at a time.

There is no evidence that they do any damage to you - or, wouldnt you have thought that medical evidence would be mounting up by now if they were bad for our health?

In electroacupuncture, they actually use electromagnetism as a healing therapy - I've had it used for IBS.

If anything you could argue that magnetism is health-beneficial not health-deleterious.
