Weird feeling in throat
« on: April 16, 2007, 07:22:02 AM »
Sorry to bother you all again...about 3 weeks ago, I had a really bad anxious period, the worst ever in fact, and since then my stomach's been really off. I've felt nauseous and if I eat just a little too much I get really bloated. However, I get this really weird 'warm' discomfort in my throat, just around and below my Adam's Apple. It's really hard to describe. I couldn't say for certain that it's heartburn as it's not that burning, but it just feels uncomfortable, almost like an indigestion referring up to my throat. I do have IBS, however. Does anyone else get this?

I've had a lot of weird sensations in my throat.

The throat is under nervous control just like your stomach and anxiety can play havoc with it.

Sometimes you can get a condition where you feel like you have a lump in your throat too - called Globus Hystericus (hardly hysterical though).

Hopefully this feeling will pass as your anxiety calms down - or just moves on to affect another part of your body (anxiety has a weird habit of doing that).
