I just got that book.  Same old, same old.  I love all of these techniques these books put forth.  So many of them feel next to impossible for someone with anxiety to do in the first place.  Kind of like - this is why we are here in the first place, cuz we "can't" do those things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, I have read many self help books over the years and most of them implement changes in behaviour that are near on impossible anyway for an anxiety sufferer.  I havent read the book mentioned above though, so who knows it may be better I never stop trying to find one that may work.  I guess I lack faith and am more tempted to go with the hypothesis that my brain chemicals cause my problems especially seen as I do so well on meds.

Yeah and certainly our society tends to frown on this hypothesis, which makes it tough to embrace, but when I look at my family and how this has started to affect me I really think it makes sense.  The scary part is making that leap to a med and then hoping it will not turn into a chase for the right drug for you or not work.  I am about to go there.
