*SEVERE* NAUSEA BLOATING PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

Please someone help me - I in the ER last week for this very same thing.  MY STOMACH is so sososo nauseas and MAJORLY BLOATED - feels like a balloon in there.  Could this be nerves?  It feels like my throat is closing too.  Cant even walk or sit up.  please someone help m e

This could definitely be caused by severe anxiety. What did they tell you at the ER?

Yeah nausea severe or mild can definetley be an anxiety symptom. If they thought it was something very serious they would have admitted you to the hospital. Your throat won't close up on you don't worry this only happens when your very allergic to medicines or food and even then its still considered rare.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING SO FAST.  YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR REALLY REALLY BAD AND U NEED AN ANSWER - SO THANKS.  AT THE ER THEY DID CBC TEST FOR MY LIVER/PANCREAS/GALLBLADDER.  THEY THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS GALLSTONES - EVERYTHING CAME BACK PERFECTLY NORMAL.  TOLD ME TO FOLLOW UP WITH FAM. DR. - I DID AND HE UPPED MY PROTONIX MED (FOR ACID REFLUX)   - I FEEL WORSE AND IM CRYING AND I HAVE TO GO THROW UP. BE BACK LATER THANKS

I get those symptoms alongside IBS sometimes I just have the baloon stomach and no constipation, diahorrea etc.  Have you been checked out for IBS?

How long have you been on the medication? Is it possible that it's causing the nausea? Especially since you felt worse after the dose was upped. I once took something my doctor prescribed for acid reflux, can't remember what it was, but felt more bloated and nauseous than ever, so stopped taking it.

I've had this several times, its usually due to IBS brought on by anxiety. Are you having diarrhoea or bouts of constipation/going longer inbetween toilet visits?

For some reason, in some people anxiety affects the motility of your gut - it speeds up or slows down - or both alternatively.

This can mean that food stays in your stomach/intestines for longer - which can cause the bloated feeling. The longer it stays inside you also means the more gas is created which again makes you feel even more bloated.

The feeling of being bloated is enough to make you feel nauseous as well.

Remember that your gut is the body's 2nd brain. Its a highly nervous set of organs that are controlled by levels of serotonin for example. With anxiety, your become nervously highly charged which can mean your serotonin levels go down - this can all affect how your stomach feels.

Speak to your doctor about the condition - he may advise that you take a spasmodic to help your stomach move better. Otherwise anti-anxiety drugs do work well with these symptoms as they work on the source of the problem.

You guys are great - thanks for responding.  I have no diarrhea or consti.  What IS IBS and how do you get diagnosed.

IBS = Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Illnesses are called a syndrome when its a collection of symptoms coming together.

For IBS that means bloating, pains, cramps, gas, irregular bowel movements, etc.

Its is only usually diagnosed once other conditions are ruled out as it is so non-specific.

However, its very common - increasingly so - in this stress-ridden world of ours.

i dont get nausea, but i get SO bloated i thought i had a tumor or something. i also get constipated often lately. i think its stress... i hope it is.
