early period due to stress/anxiety??? Is this normal.
« on: March 10, 2011, 07:06:27 PM »
Hi this email is for the gals out there.
I have really regular cycles.  I never miss or skip a period ever in 25 yrs.   I have been undergoing extreme stress and anxiety for the past one month.
My period came like 10 days early.  Or spotting.

Is this normal to have your period early or something like that if you are under extreme stress?

My stress is my house is in foreclosure and I have a new job.  and I am have anxiety really bad.

LMK if anyone has any similar experiences.

Thanks! :fragend005:

I don't know about the scientific soundness of this, but I can tell you I've had a late period in times of high-stress or high-anxiety.  Is it possible for you to see a physician who could maybe run a blood test or something to put you at ease?

So sorry to hear about your house, and new job stress is the worst.  Hang in there!

Anxiety is weird like that. It messes with your whole biological chemistry. I wouldn't be too alarmed but if you are worried check with your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

3 years ago, when my anxiety was sky high for 2-3 months, my period came 2 weeks apart from one another. It was awful! But then I went on Zoloft and birth control bills and within a month or 2 everything evened out again. I haven't had anxiety that bad or period problems since.

I think you should be okay, sounds like anxiety issues to me. If you are really concerned, talk to your doctor to see if you can be put on an anti-anxiety med or birth control. Hang in there :action-smiley-065:
