As I close my eyes
I am drawn to a place
Of such darkness that
I cannot control
A place of loss
And fear
Breathing becomes a struggle
Where do I reach
Who do I reach for
I can hear my calling
I am brought to a place
Of safety and strength
I am safe only for a moment
Then I open my eyes
Drawn back into reality
Unsteady on my feet
This is my reality
Reaching for something
To hold onto
Slowly crashing - losing balance
Something to belong
Faith and Hope
Are all I have left.
