What is generally considered the best anxiety panic med?
« on: March 09, 2011, 12:01:03 AM »
Ok, I know this is a very subjective question, since everyone responds differently, but I just want to know what meds would most likely help my situation: Due to some really stressful events lately with family and whatnot, I have "come down" with anxiety again after literally not having it for over a year. I have learned to pretty much control the extreme panic attacks, but the constant anxiety which just wrenches my stomach is really annoying. Its strange because it goes in hourly spells and minutly spells.

That is, I will be fine for one Minute, then the anxiety hits, then fades like on a minute to minute basis for a couple hours. Then it just mysteriously leaves, and I fell truly normal again. I don't get it..I feel that I need something to balance me out more. Does this sound like potential bipolar? I mean I go from really down and upset to really happy and excited about stuff.

Need to add that I am on 150 mg of zoloft per day--100 in the morning then the other 50 in the afternoon.

I would greatly appreciate the help, as it will be over a week before I can see my social worker or doctor.

I have been on and off medication for years, in my teens years though, I took zoloft, 200mg a day. It actually made me suicidal. I got off that. Responds to everyone different though....

Currently the doctors are trying to put me on Cymbalta (sp) but I haven't started yet. I am also wondering like you. I am always scared to start new medication. I am trying HARD not to GOOGLE the side effects of my new medication!
