Nobody replied to my post, so i guess I really am dying

I don't mean to sound like a total psycho but does the fact that noone replied to my post about having bowel cancer mean that you do think that ive got it.  I really don't think there is other reasons for the abdominal pain im having especially since it is there all the time and hasn't gone away in 3 months.  also my hip and back is really hurting which probably means the cancer has spread.  that would make it a stage 4 cancer and that means there is no hope of cure. basically i only have a year or so to live.  the fact that noone else has come forward and said they have felt anything like this really does make me even more certain

Hey Me!  I am sorry you are having such a tough time!  I have had pain in the same places for over 2 years.  All from anxiety.  I am not sure what all your symptoms are?  Have you had any tests done?  I know it is hard not to jump to the worst case scenario.  If you want to write back with more details, I will help any way I can!  Take Care!

Hi Me,

I can totally relate to your concerns, but I think it is HIGHLY unlikely that you have bowel cancer. I have had erratic symptoms, altered bowel habits, terrible abdominal pain, back pain, nausea for a long time now (over 10 years I'm now 26). I have been to many specialist who all diagnose me as having Irritable Bowel Syndrome. A few of my family member's suffer from IBS also, so I wasn't surprised to also suffer from it! It can be especially exacerbated by stress, anxiety, depression etc, so if it is flaring up when you are especially anxious that's no surprise either. IBS is mostly just a nuisance but nothing to fear. I hope you are feeling better about the whole thing, and good luck with your appointment, you will be fine!

thanks for replying guys and sorry to sound so melodramatic.  Ive been through this so many other times with so many other diseases but I really dont feel like i have ever had symptoms this severe.  I have been reading stories on google all day about people in their twenties who were diagnosed with bowel cancer so Ive never been so sure of anything in my life as their symptoms sound just like mine.  I suppose all I can do is wait until my specialist appointment  on Tuesday, part of me doesn't even want to go because at least now their is a possiblity I'm not dying maybe I will find out I am on Tuesday and all hope will be gone, i hate this

It is so much more likely that it's something benign than bowel cancer!  When my IBS was at its worst I couldn't stand up straight.   It seems to me if it were Stage IV Bowel Cancer you would be having about a million more symptoms than what you describe.  Also Googling is a no no!  They focus on the worst case scenarios, but in your 20's it is so rare!

With my IBS I get a sharp pain in my back near my left shoulder... the colon is a pretty big organ and the pain can radiate.  I'm sure you will be fine, and you are doing all you can by seeing a doctor.  Take Care!

I replied to your original post yesterday, I hadn't seen this second one... I would have put my post in here if I'd spotted it.

A sanderella is a mythical creature in Algerian folklore, similar to a mermaid. It is used as a cute nickname.
