about me.
« on: March 01, 2011, 01:02:38 PM »
-- name; brooke
-- age; 21
-- i'm a stay at home mom of a three year old girl
(i'm home from 7am-10pm by myself)
(don't really get out of the house much)
    (no friends with children)
-- HYPOCHONDRIAC
-- GAD (generalized anxiety disorder)
-- on 150mg of effexor
     (75mg for a year)
     (150mg for four weeks)
-- my biggest problem is my hypochondria. i'm constantly feeling as if something is wrong. right now i have the chills, major fatigue, congestion & diarrhea so i have convinced myself that i have leukemia. i'm constantly tired so that's what makes me think i have it. i just want to be better. i'm constantly feeling like a burden to my boyfriend because he is the laid back type and very calm about everything so he never worries.
-- i have a family history of depression and anxiety. my uncle has tried to commit 0119, my mom has depression and anxiety and my younger sister has the same anxiety problems as i do.

Hi Brooke

Sorry to hear about your sufferings!  You will get lots of support here from people who really do understand what you are going through!  Your symptoms you describe sounds as if you may have a cold!  Hypochondriacs have the wildest imaginations thinking that every sign of pain or discomfort is something much worse than it is!  I think you should feel better in a few days!  Let us know how you are doing!  Welcome to the Zone!

It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.

Hi Brooke..I have the same problems as you...also a family history of anxiety and depression...I always think there is somthin bad wrong with me...and that life really sucks....but i am now takeing xanax and it is kind of takeing a edge off my worry..I cant take it for long tho because it so easy to get dependent on it...I felt like this before and it went away..but then i had a really stressfull situation that triggered it again...I have burning skin, vision problems, ear pain...do you ever get any of those symptoms when your worry is at its worse??

I really feel for you. The best thing the doctor ever said to me, was if  you ha the things you think you have wrong with you you would of been dead by now.

Sounds a little harsh but I guess it kind of snapped me into step a little bit and made me think a little more slowly and one thing I learnt is never google your sypmtons god if I did that well my list of things would be endless.

Hold in there and get yourself checked over. Go see a doctor explain how you feel. There maybe something simple to sort out for you.

Welcome to the forum. Great place for you to be. Because you will meet like minded people and maybe learn a few new ways of dealing with things. The users are all friendly and help out if they can. Great chatroom too. ( 3 posts to chat ) Gallery, blogs and a few games. Enough to keep the mind busy. Enjoy the forum.
