« on: April 05, 2007, 02:42:31 AM »
Take the poll if you please, it has nothing to do with this topic.

I noticed recently, as im falling asleep, I can feel myself become paralyzed!

Let me explain: You know when you fall asleep you become paralyzed? Well I feel that before im actualy asleep, like I lose feeling in my body, then I have to get up, its very disturbing, do you get this too?

sleep paralysis (sp) mate.  i've had it couple of times, and its quite frightening. basically, your body paralyses itslef when you are asleep, to stop you acting out your dreams. sleep paralysis (and sleep walking) is a dysfunction of this mechanism - and paralyses you too early, or keeps you paralysed after you wake up.  and guess what, it can be caused by........anxiety.

some people say that when they get it, they also get this feeling like theres a malign presence in the room, or even restraining them. my friend said he woke up once paralysed and could see/feel this evil spirit at the end of his bed. spooky. arent our brains wierd?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

dunno if anyone else get this, but sometimes when im falling asleep, i get this really wierd feeling like im not just falling asleep, but like im sinking, not physically, but like my soul (lol) is falling away. weird. i really have to concerntrate to snap out of it, or i think i wont be able to comeback. ive experimented sometimes to let go, just to see what happens, but i always chicken out.

you mean you cant feel anything, rather than you cant move?
