Is there something you did that was out of the norm for you, that pushed you outside your comfort zone? Let's share those things here and keep this post alive as motivation for one another that it IS possible to get out there and do the things that scare us

Nice! Riding a bus alone is definitely one of my fears. Being alone in general is hard for me but being alone in public is the hardest. I find myself getting nervous that someone is going to hurt someone, or someone is going to talk to me and make me uncomfortable.. I even worry that I may get lost, even though I know where I am. Sometimes even riding the bus with someone is scary for me. Depends on who it is though. When I'm with my boyfriend, I'm usually fine.

I know the thoughts don't make sense, but they are always there and it's stressful to deal with.

Good luck :)

Wooooo caught the bus!  I was pretty anxious but hey I did it!  I am exhausted now, i could curl up and go to sleep.  With practice it will get easier!  Dr. says acceptance is where it's at.

Nice! After doing something that stresses me out, I usually have to take a nap. It resets my mind so I can start doing something else that day. Acceptance is key for sure.. I still have issues with it :sick0002:

I got up the guts to go to my first  therapy session in over a year on Friday. My boyfriend waited in the waiting room for me.

I'm proud of myself for going for a walk with my dad last night, even though I was scared that something bad would happen. I did it!!!

Also, I'm going to hang out with a friend tomorrow and get coffee (decaf, of course because my anxiety does NOT need caffeine hehe). I'm scared of leaving the house but I know this is good for me.

I feel amazing!

good goin' guys! I'm preemptively proud of myself for biking into town and hanging out at a coffee shop. I've been doing it the past few days . . . at first it was terrifying. Now I'm finding it easier- also pretty helpful and mood-lifting!

I have anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, ocd and a fearr of taking mds along with a ton of other fears. Most of the time I feel tired, groggy, and dizzy. Today I was "dared" in the chatroom to go for a walk and take pics. So after freaking out a bit I went. Took a pic of my mailbox and when I got back inside my mind was clear, no fogginess, not tired, just a lirtle skakey and out of breath. Later in the afternoon I got my daughter drwssed warm and went and sat on the bottom step and watched her play outside for 20 minutes. Then we brought the rocks she collected inside and drew pictures of them with silly faces and named them and cut them out. All this without a nap, which is VERY unusual for me.

Also yesterday was my first day without drinking a 6 pack of coca cola, today was much  easier than yesterday.

I haven't left the house alone, further than driving my daughter to the end of our gravel road, for 4  months unless I had an adult safe person with me.,so today was a great leap for me :)

Nice job!! I think writing out the things you do and sharing them with other people is so important when it comes to healing. Sure, we're all going to have our bad days, but there's always something we can be proud of ourselves for :) I'm glad you had fun with your daughter  :happy0151:

Let's see.. today I'm proud of myself for keeping my motivation even though I fear  that I don't make enough money. Also, I'm about to go for a walk with my dad and my dog. I know I need to get out and put off my work for a little bit. Spending time on myself is hard because I constantly worry about not making enough money. But, I know that once I get myself in a better mood from being social, then I'll get more work done

Thanks!

Today as soon as I got up I went and checked the mail again. Then I did the dishes before my husband was home (which is kinda a big thing for me)

You're not alone there. The "simplest" things are so hard for me because I get so overwhelmed and so much of the time I just want to lay in bed and not have to think about anything because of how overwhelming it is for me. However, typically when I do things, I always end up feeling amazing. Some of the things that are tough for me are:
Doing chores around the house like the dishes, laundry, cleaning the litter box, walking my dog, relaxing (I get stressed when I try to relax because I think I'm not being productive enough).. it's a vicious cycle but I'm working on it.

I went to italian class, the first time I've been able to go back to college in over a year because of anxiety. It's 4 and a half hours long, just once a week on Fridays, but I was paralyzed by fear yesterday morning before it. But somehow, I made it.

Today I woke up, immediately got ready and went to my sister's house for the jeans party. I felt a little weird for a while there, but it's hard to feel anxious around my ADORABLE 1 year old neice, and trying on Jeans was a great disctraction too! I got 2 really nice pairs and I went for ones that are a little loose because TOMORROW is the big day! No more smoking for me!!!! :) I am hoping I will gain some weight because I've been under 100 pounds since high school *besides when I was pregnant.

Anyway as soon as I got home from the Jeans Party, I wrote a shopping list and then off we went again to the grocery store!! Saw my best friend and showed off my new jeans, did a really great job in the store, wasn't too rushed, didn't feel dizzy or panicky at all  ;D

Then after the grocery store with my husband we were driving by Rite Aid and I said "hey stop there really quick...I need to get a new journal and some candy for tomorrow *when I quit smoking" So I went into Rite Aid all by myself and chatted with the cashier about my quitting smoking!

So today was another really great day. I know this next week or so will be tough on me because of the smoking withdrawls but I go through some kind of anxiety and feeling yucky pretty much every day so making myself more anxious for a couple weeks is ok because I know once I am completely finished smoking I will feel a ton better than I do now!!

That's really amazing. You did a lot. Some days I can barely leave my room lol.

Let's see.. today I am proud of myself for working as much as I did. I didn't leave the house today because of the weather but I had planned on it. I am going to be walking to Costco tomorrow with my roommate to get a few things. I'm nervous because there are going to be a lot of people there, but I need to do it to put myself in that state, or I'm just going to get more and more afraid.

thanks! Yes, most days it's hard for me to leave my room as well. Just try not to dwell on it. Thinking about it before hand makes it worse. I've even thought about not writing a grocery list anymore because it overwhelms me :)

Way to go Pamm!! If you are anything like me that is a HUGE success. Going grocery shopping and other shopping is hard enough for me. I have only been "out" for fun 2 times this whole year...one was just a few miles from home and we were only there for 2 hours tops. The other was an all night party at the casino. I surprised myself both times :)

Today, I did 2 loads of laundry, folded and put away, folded another 2 loads that were just sitting there, and put those away as well. (my husband is VERY anal about laundry and normally he tells me not to do it, but he's been working like crazy so I figured I would do it) And I also did 2 loads of dishes and cleaned my kitchen. I FINALLY have not one single dish in my sink and it feels FANTASTIC :)

That's awesome Pam and Jen. Speaking of cleaning.. I have a few things I should do today. Yesterday I was proud of myself for somehow having the energy to clean the litter box and vacuuming my room. I don't know why I get nervous about doing stuff like that.

My latest concern is worrying how to tell my roommates that we need to go our separate ways when the lease is up. My biggest fear is that they are going to take it personally. I just want to live with only my boyfriend.. doesn't seem too much to ask. Any advice on how to handle it?

Nice jobs, all of y'all:) Never sell a success short....they are such POWERFUL and POSITIVE reinforcers, when we might need a little bump of confidence. An, "If I did it once, I can do it again!" type thingy:) Nothing has really changed from one day to the next...only our perception of our fears and insecurities, maybe. And, if those can change to the "dark side", seemingly unwarranted, then we can help bring them back to the "enlightened side" with a little mindful reinforcement, perhaps:) Keep on keepin' on:)

This is a case of building up our fears to the point of them causing unnecessary angst, though, understandable nervousness, perhaps, as we have ADs:) But let's not push all our fears onto our ADs. Those "normal" peeps sure can have a hard time with addressing situations, as well:) How would you feel if they came to you with the same issue? You'd probably be understanding as you've been living with these peeps for a while and they are your friends, I would imagine. Same should go for you going to them, as well:) Growing up and moving on is part of life (and an exciting time, at that:) Don't tamper your enthusiasm with worry over a conflict that most likely won't happen. How many time in life do we end up saying, "Now that wasn't so bad after all, was it?":)

Peace and Feel Well:)

True. I just don't know how to go about it I guess. And, I sure don't want to deal with it while my boyfriend is away.. I want his help and support. Every time I've told them I don't want to live with them it gets turned around on me (blamed on my anxiety or depression) and I end up crying and feeling bad for saying anything. This time though, I can't do that. I need to be away from them in order to move forward in life.

Thanks for listening. That did really help!

Nice job! :) I've been feeling the same way lately. I've been keeping motivated and keeping my mind on positive things. It's hard to keep mentally stable when so much drama is going on around me, but I've been doing amazingly well (considering). I'm really proud!
