Psychic told me something that has me freaked out!

I have known this astrologer/psychic most of my life and she has been a family friend most of my life. I went to her a few months ago and she gave me some information that would be occurring. First, she mentioned that a male person I know will be dyeing soon, and although he is not very close to me, it would be someone that I once knew well. This happened a few weeks ago, when my mother's ex-husband died whom used to live with us from the time I was 15, until 18 years old. Then, she said that if my husband and I didn't work out our differences, we wouldn't make it. We went on a beach trip not too long ago, and almost decided to separate until we agreed to figure out what was bothering us and have been working on it ever since. We have had our minor flare ups, but are in a much better place now. The next advice she said, was that my mother is is poor health and she is hiding how bad off it is. The next week, my mother was admitted to the hospital with what she thought was heart pains. She went through all the tests, and for a woman that eats like crap and is very overweight, she passed all her tests with flying colors, no BP issues and her cholesterol came out normal! (It used to be high). So this then turns to me. I told her how concerned I was about my cholesterol and the fact that my BP seems to fluctuate and that I was afraid about my heart. She said that it is important to take care of my heart or I will have issues later. She said that I don't have any right now, but it is very important for me to learn how to destress. She said this several times, and I asked her if this should be a concern, and she said yes.

My worry is that this too will come true, or is coming true already. I am also afraid she got "her wires crossed" with my mother and I, and I am actually the one in poor health. I keep getting chest tightness, pains, out of breath, can't excercise, etc. I am so afraid to call her back and let her know what has happened and I am equally afraid to call the cardiologist that I saw two ago. I know this may seem silly to those of you who do not believe in this sort of stuff, but she has been pretty right for the most part, or she will say things and they happen but in a "different" way, if you know what I mean. She also asked me if I would be moving soon, and we really had NO intentions of moving, and just found out that the leasing company may sell our house and we may need to move in Feb. Now, I am really freaked!

Freaked that the pyschic might be wrong? Then why not worry that the blood tests etc. are wrong to be consistent. Digging deep for worries, if you ask me.  Nothing to worry about; forget it. Astrology is bunk.

In a way, after reading that site, it seems that we all try to be psychics to ourselves: stringing together a bunch of random thoughts, or feelings, to make them into something meaningful, or pulling together "if this, then this" statements. I didn't really realize the tie between the two. I have to do some more thinking about this now.

By nature and learning we think in terms that for every effect there is direct cause when in truth most events are random. Coincidence is rarely causality but people seek it anyway.

This has nothing to do with HA. However, you have no idea what you are doing going to psychics/ dealing with contacting spirits. This should freak you out more than fears of health problems.

I will say something here.

I don't believe in any of this stuff, but a cousin of mine goes to them quite regularly - she lost her father when she was just 14.

One day at a family gathering, she spoke that an old woman had communicated with the spirit medium, or whatever she is called. The woman told her this woman was a gypsy, grey very long hair, was sitting at a table, with fortune telling cards, and she said that she had passed away as she had always wanted, was content, and was waiting to be reunited with the rest of her family and wished them all happiness and would always love them no matter what.

My cousin said she had obviously been ripped off, because she had no such relative in her family....

The problem was, she did - thats the exact details of my own grandmother. Everything - the gypsy, the fortune telling, the long grey hair, and the way she died.
I can't explain it myself. Maybe i never will. But, this is indeed what happened.

yeah, but i wasn't there or anything.... my cousin just told me all that had been said, she had no reason to discount anything because she did not know my grandmother.

I will share something very embarrasing too. I have never dared to do this before, never in real life.
I was sleeping in my room 4 years ago, and i felt a presence there. I don't know why, but i felt someone was there - but i didn't feel threatened. And i swear, sitting on the edge of my bed, was my grandad. He was there. I mean, his voice, smell, everything. He had a short conversation with me that i remember word for word, but i will not share with anybody.
Then he said a few things to me, to be happy and everything, and in a blink, he was gone. I burst into masses of tears and was very upset - wouldn't you be?

My mum believed in ghosts and spirits and things.... i don't believe in them, but thats the problem - i swear, he was actually there and spoke to me... but he has been dead 16 years.

I've spoken to many people with spiritual gifts and very seldom do they get their "wires crossed."  I tend to be intuitive myself and have had several situations that lead me to believe there's a connection to the other side.

Back to the original poster...when I read the post and the part where she told you that you need to be concerned with destressing, I didn't get any bad feelings from that.  I think she's right in some sense all of us on this board need to do that.  When we suffer from anxiety, our body goes into that "fight or flight" mode.  Staying in that "fight or flight" mode all of the time as anxiety sufferers do, has long term health consequences.  The stress it puts on our bodies isn't good and I think we all know that on some level.

So I think that her message to you is simply what she said, to destress.  Easier said than done, but it's something to work on.  I wouldn't read more into it than that honestly.

Well well well, don't know what to say.

I too believe that there are some people who possess the gift of either speaking to the dead or predicting your future. I frequented a psychic about 10 yrs ago and she told me everything that was/had gone on in my life. She told me I was going to have great turmoil but said everything would be okay. The only thing that did not come true was that I was going to have a second child.

I have been bothered for years hearing I would have great turmoil in my life. My psychologist doesnt believe in it and has the same feeling that Carryon possesses. I can't get this out of my head. I also believe in dreams and what they're trying to tell us. I am a Roman Catholic and I've been told that the church doesn't believe in this and it's against church teachings.   Probably, visiting a psychic is not the best thing for a person with HA to visit.

I don't know what to tell you. I would just take care of myself the best I could. Time will tell if it's an accurate reading.

Um, so I talked to my astrologer again and she said that it is my stress that is causing any things that I am feeling. She said that she did not see anything wrong with my heart, that it is actually my lungs. I told her I have asthma, but it has been getting really bad lately. I decided to look on line and check to see if asthma has any effect of blood pressure, and the only thing that came up was pulmonary hypertension. It would explain the slight swelling in my ankles, the feeling of more water in my legs and my fat tummy. I also have more times that I am feeling chest tightness and shortness of breath.

Would they have seen something on my echocardiogram two years ago? Should I get rechecked? Does anyone know how long it take for pulmonary hypertension to develop? Other then the CT scan I had in 05 and the echo in 08 when I started having symptoms, that is all the tests I have had. Since the CT scan in 05, my BP has been increasing but is all over the place. If I had pulmonary hypertension with symptoms, wouldn't it have shown up on those tests?

I have been to an MD and a cardiologist many times. I am too afraid to go to the Dr. at this point. The last time I was in was a few months ago and he didn't think there was a problem at the time. I happened to remember what my astrologer said, and once things started coming true, I started to get worried about what she said with the heart. Now, that she said lungs, I thought it might be my asthma so I googled to see if there was a correlation between BP and asthma, but I came up with Pulmonary Hypertension and freaked myself out all over again. I have been diagnosed with asthma and it showed up in an xray. I am worried now that in the last two years it has developed into pulmonary hypertension.

After reading what your psychic told you, I am thinking that I may be pretty psychic myself.  *Grandma puts on a head scarf and rubs crystal ball*

A male not close to you, who you once knew well, will die soon.  People we know or used to know die every day.  Since I have been pretty right for the most part, or I have said things and they happened but in a "different" way, that gives a lot of leeway.  Maybe it will be a woman, or maybe it will not be someone close to you, or maybe it will be someone you never knew well, or maybe a man not close to you who you once knew well will get very sick but not die.  But I promise you, something sort of like what I predict will happen.

If you and your husband don't work out your differences you won't make it.  Duh.  My thirteen year old grandson could have told you that.  Maybe he is psychic too.

Your mother is in poor health and hiding it.  Since I am long time family friend, your mother may have confided in me, or I may have seen this behavior in your mother before, but that is not how I know.  I know because I am psychic.

You need to take care of your heart or you will have issues later.  I know this because I can tell the future.  The fact that I know you are concerned about your cholesterol and blood pressure doesn't matter, nor does the fact that a lot of people have heart trouble in their later years, and you might very well develop it when you are 70. 

You need to learn to de-stress - this is a concern.  Again - duh.  And I spent all that time in money in graduate school learning to be a clinical social worker who could diagnose mental disorders, when all I needed to do was rely on my psychic ability.

Oh - and since we're talking again, let me say that it is your stress causing your physical symptoms.  Good thing I am psychic, because I might have missed all the forum posts, chat room talks, professional literature, personal experience and so forth, that would have taught me that.

AYKM, do you get my drift?  Now relax, see your doctor yearly and your dentist every six months, and all will be well.

I went to a psychic once.  I was 21.  She told me when I was 23 I was going to get into a drunk driving accident and someone would die, possibly me.  So 23 came and the day I turned 24 I thought crap, what if she meant 32.  I thought about that for 10 years.  I will never go to another psychic.  LOL

Ignore this so called 'psychic'. Like others have said she's using cold reading, 'Barnum statements' and I bet she has plenty of inside knowledge on you too.

A true psychic (although I don't personally believe such a thing exisits) will make a point of not relaying news of health and death.
