Hi there:)

You said, "Hey guys its been a long time i havent posted anything!!"

This would lead me to believe that you've been able to reassure yourself, lately, that there isn't anything serious wrong with your heart which is AWESOME!:) Am I correct? What's happening now that would make you think it's serious? Your symptoms sure fall in line with anxiety...my chest was ALWAYS tight when I was hyper-anxious:) Have you seen a Doc recently or had any med tests? How old are you?

Peace and Feel Well:)

hi mike...I had something similar last year. I took myself off to the hospital..they did all the tests and it turned out to be stress(anxiety) related. I started walking every day....ever since then...no chest discomfort....

Ive been having this for a few weeks and now it is almost gone. I went to doc and he said its coscochondritis or something - no googling - that really means its an inflammation of the where the sternum and rib bones meet. it is nothing and goes away on its own (ibuprofen helped me). anyways its really common, and it is NOTHING to worry about. That is what your pain sounds like to me.

I'm not sure the ins and outs of it... I just know that after listening to my heart and lungs, he said the pain is not related to either of them.  Feel your chest in the middle and the ribs around it... do they feel sore? Try and massage them, does it hurt? If so, it is most likely not a heart problem

I wondered where you have been. You probably have off from work now for the holidays. When you have more time you notice more things.

I think it is typical Health Anxiety and will dissapear once you are busy again working.

I know how you feel with the chest discomfort. It's hard to describe and it is more discomfort than pain - the occasional pain, but mostly discomfort and muscle pain. On and off - maybe a week at a time - for a month.

If I massage where I think it hurts, it just ends up hurting my ribs but not making it feel better (like I think it should). I've been asked if it could be related to my oesophagus. I haven't been to my doctor about any chest discomfort before, so I'll make an appointment at some point just to reassure myself.

I agree with the holidays problem though - I've been off work for a fortnight and haven't been able to get out anywhere really and my mind is just ridiculous at the moment.

Hope all is well for you :).

Chest pain is not a symptom of heart failure, and chest pain relative to a heart attack does not subside. You stated you saw the cardiologist already, so I would say it is most likely related to anxiety. I get the chest pains related to anxiety as well. It feels so real because it is real! For me, is often one of my first symptoms that I notice when my anxiety is getting bad and I know that it is time to take a step back and relax. I actually had bad pains last night which coincided with a rough day at work. I did some breathing exercises and stretches and the pain subsided.

Mike, it does sound like Costochondritis to me, I suffer from it frequently and have had every single heart test and I am fine. It mimics heart problems and really hurts. Try and relax, I agree ibuprohen will certain help.  Costochondritis is harmless but does cause pain and anxiety.

Be Well!

I have and do go through what you are going through, I feared the heart attacks, thats how I found out about Chosto. It always hits when I have a panic attack or anxiety. You have to just tell yourself it will pass. Make no mistake its not pleasant, but at least its not deadly. For tests I had 2 EKG's, 2 sets of full blood work with cardiac enzymes, heart stress test, 24 hour blood pressure monitor, a heart ultrasound all to find out I am ok.....and so are you!
