"Funny guy" isn't having so much fun, hi :)

Hi all!

Before I start with whatever I may write after this, I must say I had a very amazing feeling finding this site. Looking at the resent posts with this MONTHS date was thrilling, but TODAY? and it's not even noon here. Thank you so much!

My name is Rob and most would consider me the fun, loud, somewhat annoying yet lazy guy they know. It's a hardship because I don't always feel fun, loud, annoying or lazy. Growing up it was hard to be in a bad mood because if ROB was in a bad mood someone must have died.

After a spiral of various events, actions and consequences I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I've been on various medication since August and just now was recommended to see a psychiatrist which where my diagnosis occurred. Before the diagnoses, the medication I was on didn't help my situation physically or mentally but opened my eyes to seeing deeper into what was going on, the diagnosis just confirmed and explained it.

I have people who care about me, but I am currently in the "no one understands" phase. I need to talk about this with someone because my friends and family know I can't eat food at home without watching an acceptable program on TV,  but they don't know what it's like to not be able to eat without watching an acceptable program on TV. It just seems "funny". It is at first, but just at first.

Wow, I wrote a book! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to speak. I am very anxious for my time here to start, and I think it just did. Thank you!

Thank you both! I realize it requires 30 posts for chat but for the sake of overdoing it, I will take my time getting there, haha. PS, want to know how unhealthily obsessive I was for an hour thinking the best way to hit 30? It's funny, but it's also a disorder. I found it funny, nonetheless.

I just joined yesterday and just like you I felt like I was "home".  I have been in the "no one understands" phase since day one of my Panic disorder and it's true...unless they have experienced it first hand for themselves then they have no idea what is going on.....as I have described to others here...we are prisoners in our own minds and that is not a fun place to be.  My biggest problems is panic attacks, anxiety, and the fear of being alone and being in closed in spaces.  I realize we have all been "labeled" but what it boils down to is this...we are extremely high strung and obsessive about the thoughts we have where other people can just brush them off....ahhhh if only it were that simple.  I hope that you find strength and support here cause I think we are all gonna be really good for one another.  Good luck and keep your head up...YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
