Anxiety & Restless Legs
« on: December 21, 2010, 01:54:01 PM »
I've had what I think might be restless leg syndrome for a few years now and over the past few weeks it seems to have increased. I'm more anxious than normal, probably because of Christmas and was wondering if the increase in leg activity at night might be due to anxiety and stress?

My legs kicked about so much the night before last I knocked our cat flying out of the bed. Poor fella fell flat on his butt D: I guess that's all I was wondering. I've read some stuff about anxiety and the leg thing being connected.

sure.  I get more jumpy, especially when sleeping, when I'm stressed and/or anxious.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

Yeah, same thing happens to me. Thanks for sharing. I'd heard things about anxiety and muscle spasms/twitches but hadn't heard from someone who has these problems. So thank you very much <3
