The poem I said I wouldn’t write (a poem within a poem)

Its simple, I’m sorry, things
Got on top of me,
I should have just left it when you said that you liked

Roses are red.

And then I wouldn’t have cried when I went to bed,
Wouldn’t have regretted the things I said,
Should have trusted when you said you knew that

Violets are blue.

I know I miss you,
Even when you are here,
I miss the way we used to be,

I know that you love me.

And that things can be misconstrued,
The truth is all askew, sorry
This only is true

I love you too.
