« on: December 19, 2010, 08:26:00 AM »
Leaving now to tailgate with my friends for 4 hours until game starts then headed in the stadium. I can feel my body extremley nervous already just thinking aboit doing it? I'm lightheaded, I can feel the uneasy tenseness in my stomach and my head. Sucks. What do I do?

DO IT!! I spent 8 hours crying yesterday cause my ex was being so mean to me (we just recently broke up) and so a friend came over while my sister watched my kiddos. He wanted me to go hang out at his house with him and his friends. The minute he took me outside I said I couldn't do it cause my anxiety was already too high and I started crying. But he kindly made me do it. I was REALLY uptight for the ride over there like about to jump out of moving car and attempt to walk home from where I was, but it passed. I had a really good time. Finally ate a little food and had some drinks. When I got home I felt great!!! One cause I over came my anxiety again and two cause I actually got out. It's scary but the rewards are great!

Hey, there, Valley :action-smiley-065: and Sad ducky
:action-smiley-065:  I feel your pain, Valley, that's me all over.  I find what Sad said to be true too.  If I make myself go, and even if I am weak in the knees, dizzy, I try to be in the moment, and if I laugh and have some fun, then I feel great when I get home, and then feel like I could go somewhere else and not feel so much anxiety.  My problem have gotten worse since I have retired and don' have the day to day working and being with people which I feel kept this problem at bay for quite some time.  So Valley enjoy your day, and be proud of yourself. a few brewskis may help too...let us know how it goes.  You can do it!

I'm exactly the same way! But it is true, you will feel so proud of yourself & accomplished once you get home later & realize that you not only "survived" but probably enjoy yourself as well.  The beginning is always the hardest cuz you tend to say to yourself, "i already dont feel well. How am i gonna last another 8 hours feeling like this? what if, what if what if....?" But once you calm down a little and get distracted and into the groove you will feel alot better and start to enjoy yourself.  Have fun today, and if you start to feel panicky, do some deep breathing and tell yourself that it will pass, its only anxiety & it cant hurt you.
