Scared to death....female issue...please help:-(
« on: December 15, 2010, 09:57:23 PM »
So for a number of years I would get a pain on my right side during ovulation. It was a lot worse when I was younger and seemed to almost disappear. Well it came back on Monday and felt a little better on Tuesday and today it was more of a bloated feeling like a fullness. The pain is off and on and my bowel movements where looser(sorry TMI) and I felt the pain as I was going but then it disappeared. It's like a phantom and when I feel it and obsess it seems to be worse, then the panic starts. I start shaking like I have the chills and my heart starts ponding. I keep thinking it's a bladder infection, but no discomfort when urinating or cramping. Then I think it could really just be ovulation it is that time like right to the day. But then the scariest thought is the big O C***** I am 38 with a 6 year old son and a wonderful husband I am not ready to die!!! Why do I think these thoughts?? Especially on a count that I have had this identical pain before and within a few days it has gone away. I guess because I haven't had it in such a long time and when I did I didn't have this dreaded HA!!!!

Anyone else get thes types of ovulation symptoms??? I am scared to death of DRs and tests. I feel much better hearing words from people who feel like me and know what it's like.

my doctor said to me last week "time is the internists' best friend."  He said that if you have had something before...and time has gone by, (in other words, you lived to tell about it!) he pretty much checks it off of his worry list.  He said he only wants to hear about NEW symptoms.  He specifically said, not the same symptoms but they last longer but different.  If you've had this before, you probably are just fine.  I hope this helps a little bit.  I have pain during ovulation almost every month...I can feel which side it is.  And bloating is a sure thing at ovulation time.  Try not to be frightened...I don't think the big OC would come out of nowhere like that. The most likely answer is most likely. :) My guess would just be ovulation.

I am 36 and can definitely relate to what you're saying.  When I was younger, probably in my early to mid 20s, I would get HORRIBLE ovulation pains on my right side.  It would last a day or two and go away.  At the time I was naieve (sp) and my HA wasn't that bad, so I'd just brush it off.  I can usually still tell when I'm ovulating, but most months the pain isn't as bad as it used to be.  Every once in awhile, however, it can get pretty bad.  I have almost gone to the ER a couple times because of it.  I do get the bloating along with it afterwards, and I get loose stools when I'm on my period.  Within the last few years I have mentioned these pains to my doctor, who said these are normal for women.  They are called mittelschmerz.

I get these similar symptoms off and on (have for about 2 years) and I always freak about OvC too.  I have this fear once every few months.  Rationally, I see that I've had the same symptoms periodically for years.  But I totally understand

Thank You ladies:-) I feel a little better today especially after reading your posts. I've found it's really not that bad except when I focus on it and PANIC. I am actually going to visit a good friend this afternoon while my son is in school, just to get my mind off of it and stop obsessing!!! Can only hope and pray the nighttime will be easier then the past couple, oh how I dread the night:-)
