Help me with coming off of Luvox/Klonopin together
« on: December 15, 2010, 03:48:33 PM »
Hi everyone, it's me again, haha, I am coming off of Luvox and Klonopin right now. It has been about 9days now. I am coming off of Luvox 100mg/day and Klonopin 1-2mg/day as needed, which was usually 1.5mg/day. I am tapering off of both over the next 20 days right now my Luvox dose is 0213 50mg/day and the Klonopin is .5mg/ 2xday. On Friday, I have to go to 25mg/Luvox and Klonopin .25mg/ 2xday. Then after 10days 0213 those doses, discontinue. My psychiatrist then wants to see me back after 10 more days completely free of the medications to see how I feel and if I may need a mood stabilizer rather than a benzo/ssri combo. So far that combo hasn't worked and we've been trying diff meds over the course of a yr now to no avail. My ?'s are: 1. Is the extreme fatigue I am experiencing normal ? I feel like just getting up to eat is exhausting then I lay right back down and go to bed. 2. Is the insomnia normal, I am up from like 2-3pm until 3-4am, rest and repeat. 3. Can the psychical symptoms of the discontinuation be remedied somehow ? I don't want to get up and drink a ton of coffee b/c I am afraid it will send me into an anxiety attack. I have been doing a spin class 2x a wk and that helps but it's not until later in the evening so I have no desire to get up until then. Is seasonal depression quite common ? Seems like every time we get snow and it gets cold out I get more depressed and sleep more b/c there is nothing to do outside and it is too cold to want to go do anything. I really am having a hard time with this and would love to hear from ppl who have got through this and how. I also have low Testosterone and high Cortisol and I go to see my Endocrinologist next month. My therapist seems to think at this point it is an hormonal issue and once I get that corrected than the anxiety may all but dissipate. Which from what I read is very possible but I don't think I could get that lucky. Sorry for the long post but any helpful advice or encouraging words will be great.
