Hello,  :action-smiley-065:

Welcome

The one you want to focus on is, dependent personality ?
If that is the one,  these are symptoms:

difficult time functioning independently
lack of self-confidence and dependence
cannot make everyday decisions
excessive desire to be taken care

i think it's common...actually it's probably rare that someone JUST has depression, or JUST has GAD...i think i have a combination of the two.

I have multiple mental & emotional health problems & difficulties, it is certainly not uncommon for you to suffer from more than one.

I would focus more on as said the dependent personality, because then when you work on the social anxiety/depression, you will be able to have a likely chance of working on them better than if you were to work on them whilst still struggling with the difficulties of a dependent personality.

I'd never heard of dependent personality disorder, but that sounds like someone wrote that about me (it's that spot on). I'm not officially diagnosed, but strongly believe I have Adult Separation Anxiety Disorder, OCD, Generalized Anxiety, and now, possibly Dependent Personality Disorder...any advice?  :fragend005:

I think doctors tend to over diagnose and over medicate. I was pissed off at my psychiatrist years ago before I recovered because he was always giving me new labels and trying to convince me that I need more drugs. So I thought I would test him.

I brought him this list of "symptoms" of a family member and asked him what he thought, here is some of the list:

Rapid mood swings from laughing to crying
Sleeps 14 hours a day on some days
Selfish and does not like to share with others
Shows terror when alone
Has rage attacks when frustrated
Uninhibited to the point not knowing social norms
Has been known to walk nude in front of strangers
Lacks most forms of self control
Lies
See "friends" who are not real

I actually gave him more than this but you get the idea. The first thing he said was that I should immediately hospitalize the family member. Then he ventured to diagnose 9 different psychiatric disorders but said could be more on full examination.

I thanked him for his diagnosis and told him THIS IS MY 3 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER

After this he was almost nasty to me so I stopped seeing him - he never helped anyway

Amoryn

Hi
Amoryn is a herbal remedy brain supplement with the main ingredient called hyperforin, which is extracted from a herb called St. John’s Wort. St. John’s Wort is typically used as a herbal remedy for depression, as it has fewer side effects than standard medication. However, there have also been studies, which show that this herb produces results very close to those found in placebo tests, so the evidence of its efficacy is far from concrete.

i tried st johns wort years ago. did nothing. is apparently only good for minor to moderate depression.  also, just because something is natural, that doesnt mean its necessarily safe.

I have "Anxiety Disorder NOS", but it's basically GAD, Panic Disorder, and Depression with some OCD tendencies.
