Depression and sleeping in late
« on: April 17, 2005, 10:42:20 PM »
I have been going to bed at about 11:30 - 12:00 and sleeping in till sometimes noon the following day. I find that I wake up at maybe 9:00 in the morning and just sort of feel like "yuk, another worthless day I have to live through" and then I roll back over and go to sleep. Then, I wake up maybe an hour later again and think "nothing special about today...why even bother to get up?. Again and again I wake up and then roll over and go back to sleep again rather than face yet another bland, boring day where nothing new and exciting is going to take place. Yes, this is VERY typical of depression!.

So, after 3 weeks of this, I took a Celexa the other day and the difference it made was like the difference between night and day. While it does take awhile to get into your system, some people (like myself) can begin to feel very noticeable affects in only a day or two. I just took another pill this evening. Even my room mate can see a difference.

Anyway, just thought I'd share...

I can sure relate to that. I have this little "window" of time each day where I feel even close to normal and am able to get things done. During this "window" of time, I race to cram as much in as possible because I never know when the next opportunity will arise when I feel "normal" again (ie; not depressed). If I go past this window, I seem to slump back into the anxiety/depression pit again and I'm lucky if I can even get up from my chair. I guess many of us are like that. Sometimes I can pop a pill here and there and grab some extra motivation but those times are rare and I end up running out of gas anyway.

oh I remember those days when sleep was all I wanted to do and somehow pulled myself outta it (can't get ahead laying in bed, so get up & put on your shoes' was a song that I'd sing in my mind to help)

now I can not sleep at all....ANGER....can not turn brain off

so I do stuff like this
